Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo railed against President Biden\u2019s newly announced \u201cAmerica is back\u201d app<\/a>roach to diplomacy \u2014 saying the US can\u2019t afford \u201ceight more years of Barack Obama\u2019s foreign policy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pompeo was asked to weigh in on Biden\u2019s foreign policy changes on Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cDoes he mean back to when ISIS controlled a caliphate in Syria that was the size of Britain? I hope not,\u201d Pompeo said Thursday.<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cWhen he [Biden] says \u2018back,\u2019 when America is back, does he mean back to letting China walk all over us, destroying millions of jobs in places like Kansas and South Carolina, that we know so well? I hope that\u2019s not what he means by \u2018back.\u2019 <\/p>\n

\u201cHe talked about allies,\u00a0when he said go \u2018back,\u2019 does he mean back to dissing allies and friends like Israel and treating the terrorists in Iran like friends by giving them $150 billion in pallets of cash?\u201d<\/p>\n

Pompeo added, \u201cI don\u2019t think the American people can afford to go back to eight more years of Barack Obama\u2019s foreign policy.\u00a0I hope they\u2019ll move forward with a foreign policy that looks much more like our \u2018America first\u2019 foreign policy.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Biden announced \u201cdiplomacy is back at the center\u201d of US foreign policy, declaring that \u201cAmerica is back.\u201d He said he\u2019s ending US support for Saudi Arabia in its war in Yemen, while also promising to take a tougher stance on Russia. <\/p>\n

Pompeo defended former President Donald Trump from accusations by Biden of not standing up to the Kremlin.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe worked hard to prevent Russia from interfering in our election,\u201d Pompeo said. \u201cI\u2019m proud of the work that we did. I\u2019m proud of the work we did to push back against Russia.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pompeo also defended his own work as the US\u2019 top diplomat, even if it wasn\u2019t always well-received.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was\u00a0secretary of state, I shot straight, I told it like it was \u2026 and there were some cold receptions in Brussels and some of the salons of Europe, there\u2019s no doubt about that,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m proud of the work we did. We spoke the truth.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
