\n Former first lady Michelle Obama honored Beyonc\u00e9 at the 20th annual BET Awards ceremony Sunday night by presenting the singer and activist with the 2020 Humanitarian Award, according to a report.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am here to talk about The Queen, you know the one,\u201d Obama said in a video presentation, USA Today reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cEver since she was a little girl in Houston, Beyonc\u00e9 Knowles-Carter has been lighting up the stages and gracing the world with her talent, with her generosity of spirit and with her love for her community,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can see it in everything she does. From her music that gives voice to black joy and black pain, to her activism that demands justice for Black Lives,\u201d Obama continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd no matter how big the stages get, I know my girl isn\u2019t satisfied unless she\u2019s sharing all that shine she has with the next generation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The presentation focused on the 38-year-old superstar\u2019s work with the community, education efforts, low-income housing and providing support during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

After Obama\u2019s tribute, Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s mother Tina Knowles-Lawson said her daughter has always been \u201cblessed to give back\u201d to the community.<\/p>\n

In a video, Beyonc\u00e9 called the honor \u201cbeautiful\u201d and dedicated it \u201cto all of my brothers out there, all of my sisters out there inspiring me, marching and fighting for change.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cYour voices are being heard and you\u2019re proving to our ancestors that their struggles were not in vain.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyonc\u00e9 ended her remarks by urging voter participation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m encouraging you to continue to take action, continue to work to change a racist and unequal system. We have to continue to do this together,\u201d she said. \u201cWe have to vote like our life depends on it, because it does.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
