Maybe don\u2019t give Rupert Grint a \u201cHarry Potter\u201d box set as a housewarming gift.<\/p>\n

The \u201cServant\u201d star \u2014 who did magical turns as wizard Ron Weasley in the eight-film \u201cPotter\u201d franchise \u2014 has joined the legion of celebrities who admit they can\u2019t stand watching themselves on-screen.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve probably seen the first three at the premieres, but after that I stopped watching them,\u201d Grint, 32, recently told Variety<\/a> of his aversion to watching the blockbuster \u201cPotter\u201d flicks. \u201cBut now that I have a daughter, I will probably have to watch them with her.\u201d Grint and his partner,\u00a0Georgia Groome, had a daughter<\/a>, named Wednesday G. Grint, in May 2020.<\/p>\n

Grint is far from alone in fostering an avoidance of his own performances. He joins a long list of celebs who shun their screentime. <\/p>\n

Among them: \u201cMorning Show\u201d actress Reese Witherspoon once shot down the thought of examining one\u2019s work in an interview with Chelsea Handler. \u201cI don\u2019t know, who feels good looking at themselves?\u201d the Oscar winner said<\/a>. \u201cNobody, right? It\u2019s torture. Why would you want to watch yourself being stupid and pretending to be somebody else?\u201d<\/p>\n

Academy Award winner Julianne Moore (\u201cStill Alice\u201d) confessed<\/a> to being a teetotaler concerning her work, too, saying, \u201cI haven\u2019t seen any of my own movies<\/a>. \u2026 I can\u2019t sit there for a premiere or anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

And fellow Oscar celebrant Javier Bardem (\u201cNo Country for Old Men\u201d) uses emphatic expletives to explain his fear, telling GQ<\/a> of seeing himself on-screen, \u201cI can\u2019t even watch that f \u2013 \u2013 king nose, that f \u2013 \u2013 king voice, those ridiculous eyes. I can\u2019t handle that.\u201d <\/p>\n

Emma Stone walked out of a screening of her 2010 comedy \u201cEasy A,\u201d saying, \u201cWho wants to watch themselves for that long?\u201d In 2010, Emmy-nominated \u201cLost\u201d alum Matthew Fox admitted<\/a> he\u2019d never seen an episode of the ABC series, adding, \u201cI just really am not comfortable watching myself.\u201d <\/p>\n

And in 2019, \u201cStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalker\u201d actor Adam Driver famously bolted from an interview with NPR\u2019s Terry Gross when she dared to play a clip from the film \u201cMarriage Story\u201d on her \u201cFresh Air\u201d radio show. In fact, he\u2019d previously confessed<\/a> to his aversion in a 2015 interview with Gross.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, no, I\u2019ve watched myself or listened to myself before, then always hate it,\u201d Driver told her. \u201cAnd then wish I could change it, but you can\u2019t. And I think I have, like, a tendency to try to make things better or drive myself and the other people around me crazy with the things I wanted to change or I wish I could change.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grint co-stars opposite Lauren Ambrose in M. Night Shyamalan\u2019s App<\/a>le TV+ thriller \u201cServant,\u201d in which he plays the brother of a woman shaken by the death of her baby who creepily copes by raising a doll.<\/p>\n

In the Variety interview, Grint also weighed in on a rumored \u201cHarry Potter\u201d series headed to HBO Max, which the network has denied. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019ll be weird if it was a continuation kind of thing,\u201d he said. \u201cI weirdly feel quite protective of that character. Even when I saw the stage shows, it was a very strange experience. \u2026 If it\u2019s like a different group of friends, I guess it would be interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n
