Cam Newton finally has a home, and the former Carolina Panthers QB expressed his gratitude to the New England Patriots with his typically odd choice of script<\/a>ure.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited as I don\u2019t know what right now! All praise to God\u2026 I hope you\u2019re ready. #LetsGoPats,\u201d Newton wrote on his Instagram story, written in mostly capital letters and special characters as he is known to do on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He also wrote \u201c1ove\u201d at the bottom, implying he may continue to wear the No. 1 he wore throughout his nine seasons in Carolina.<\/p>\n

The three-time Pro Bowler struck a one-year minimum deal with the Patriots on Sunday, an incentive-laden contract worth up to $7.5 million, after a long, drawn-out offseason that had a number of surprising twists. First, Carolina attempted to deal Newton, publicly claiming they \u201cgave him permission\u201d to seek a trade which Newton said he never wanted.<\/p>\n

Carolina then unceremoniously released the former NFL MVP, and he remained on the market for months as QBs such as Case Keenum, Chase Daniel and Marcus Mariota all signed multi-year deals.<\/p>\n

Newton is coming off a Lisfranc injury in his foot and multiple shoulder surgeries, which likely explained his extended free agency. But the Patriots took a flier on the star QB, one that could pay off in a big way if he is healthy as the Patriots had unproven Jarrett Stidham and veteran Brian Hoyer in the wake of Tom Brady\u2019s departure.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
