Fans are not only excited to see their favorite YA characters return to the screen, but also to see the story finally get justice after the dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointment of the 2010 film adaptation of <em>Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief<\/em>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>After years of clamoring for a faithful screen adaptation, Percy Jackson fans were finally able to celebrate when series creator Rick Riordan <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/tv\/percy-jackson-disney-plus-series-rick-riordan\/\">announced<\/a> that both he and his wife Becky would \u201cbe involved in-person at every step of the show.\u201d Yet even with all of this excitement after Riordan\u2019s recent claim <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/rickriordan.com\/2021\/01\/the-latest-from-athena-house-jan-24-2021\/\">on his blog<\/a> that the team is \u201con the verge of getting a really first-rate project off the ground,\u201d patience must once again become a virtue among Percy Jackson fans, as the series is not likely to premiere for another two years. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Until then, here are some ways that Disney+\u2019s TV adaptation of <em>Percy Jackson and The Olympians<\/em> can honor its original source material in these early stages.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Casting_Real_Teenagers\"><\/span>Casting (Real) Teenagers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_986800\" style=\"width: 1510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-986800\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-986800 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Percy-Jackson-Grover-Annabeth.jpg\" alt=\"Brandon T. Percy begins the series at age 12 and ends the series at age 16; in the film adaptation, his age was changed to 16 to reach an older demographic, something which longtime fans of the series were not pleased with. It\u2019s significant that the characters are young teenagers grappling with the high-stakes situations that surround them. To nail this impact, it is crucial that viewers are connecting with the characters at the ages they are in the books. <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"One_Book_One_Season\"><\/span>One Book = One Season<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span>We know the first season of the series will focus on Riordan\u2019s first Percy Jackson novel, <em>The Lightning Thief<\/em>. To this day, fans have not forgotten this misstep and already have started to clamor for accurate character depictions in the Disney+ series. While these traits may seem superficial, they are crucial components of characters that fans have loved since 2005, making their depiction in this series an important one. <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Remaining_Faithful_to_Original_Plotlines\"><\/span>Remaining Faithful to Original Plotlines<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span>With Riordan on board, this may be a no-brainer, but it\u2019s still important. After the release of the 2010 film, Percy Jackson fans were upset to discover that much of the original plot was manipulated and even cut from the film completely. Here\u2019s to hoping that the Disney+ series includes Percy\u2019s high-stakes duel with Ares on the Santa Monica beach this time around, with Riordan himself <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/rickriordan.com\/2018\/11\/memories-from-my-tv-movie-experience\/\">claiming<\/a> that it was a \u201ccrime to exclude it from the movie.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Return_of_a_Familiar_Face\"><\/span>Return of a Familiar Face?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span>Obviously, original Percy Jackson actor Logan Lerman cannot return to the series as Percy himself, but this has not stopped the popular fan-casting of Lerman as Percy\u2019s father, Poseidon.
