\n The Supreme Court on Monday voted 5-4 to strike down a restrictive Louisiana abortion measure in a major win for abortion rights activists \u2014 with Chief Justice John Roberts siding with the court\u2019s liberal justices.<\/p>\n

The case was about a tough Louisiana abortion law that forced doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of their own clinic.<\/p>\n

Challengers asserted the restriction would limit the state to just one abortion provider at a single clinic.<\/p>\n

The dispute was the first over abortion to be argued before President Trump\u2019s two app<\/a>ointees, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, and came four years after the high court ruled that a similar abortion law passed in Texas was unconstitutional.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
