That included the Japanese company\u2019s takeover of U.S. firm <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/renesas-to-buy-chip-maker-integrated-device-technology-for-6-7-billion-1536632658\" class=\"icon none\">Integrated Device Technology<\/a> for $7.2 billion in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition of Dialog marks the second time a U.K. chip maker has become the target of overseas bidders after Nvidia<br \/>\n        NVDA,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/200467500\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-0.54%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       in September 2020 bought SoftBank Group\u2019s<br \/>\n        9984,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/207303954\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+4.45%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       chip division Arm for $40 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The deal comes amid a surge of consolidation in the semiconductor industry in recent months.
