“#Cure Auto Insurance’s ‘Whip it Out’ Super Bowl ad slammed as offensive<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Crash and burn is one way to describe this Super Bowl 2021 ad.<\/p>\n

Cure Auto Insurance is being roasted for its \u201cWhip It Out\u201d commercial, with the Twitter<\/a>verse racing to condemn it as \u201ctone deaf\u201d for using sexual harassment in the workplace as fodder for lame jokes.<\/p>\n

The commercial aired just before The Weeknd\u2019s halftime performance on Sunday during the biggest night of the year for football \u2014 and pricey television advertising.<\/p>\n

The 30-second spot opens with a visibly upset employee storming into her boss\u2019s office and declaring: \u201cMiss Davis, Tommy just brought me into his office and whipped out his opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t just whip it out \u2014 she was into it,\u201d Tommy blurts out in his defense. \u201cPlus, I have a pretty big opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n

The blond boss lady \u2014 a self-professed fan of \u201cmargaritas\u201d \u2014 then interjects: \u201cTommy, not everyone in this office wants your opinion,\u201d prompting Tommy to bring up a prior shared happ<\/a>y hour \u201cwhen you begged me for my opinion?\u201d<\/p>\n

The ad ends with a narrated voiceover: \u201cWe can\u2019t protect your opinion \u2014 but we can protect your car.\u201d<\/p>\n

Social-media justice warriors were swift in their condemnation: \u201cWow. Okay. Cure Auto Insurance with the fail ad of the decade,\u201d one outraged Twitter user posted<\/a>. \u201cWhat is happening????\u201d<\/p>\n

Another tweeter sarcastically weighed in with<\/a>, \u201cAn insurance commercial making fun of workplace harassment? Hell yeah, that\u2019s the f\u2013king stuff, baby.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cure, a regional company based in West Windsor, NJ, \u201cleaked\u201d the ad before the Super Bowl \u2014 and Twitter hate promptly piled up.<\/p>\n

And, finally, \u201cNothing goes over as well in 2021 as some fresh workplace sexual harassment material,\u201d one poster chimed in<\/a>, with yet another tweeter declaring<\/a>, \u201cI just saw an ad for Cure Auto Insurance that should never have been approved.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reps for Cure did not immediately respond to The Post\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n
