“#Jimmy Woo Spin-Off Already Being Pitched to Marvel \u2013 \/Film<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

WandaVision<\/em><\/strong> has spawned dozens of fan theories and ideas for future Marvel stories \u2014 not the least of which is the pitch for a Jimmy Woo spin-off made in the style of The<\/em>\u00a0X-Files<\/em>. But what started as a viral joke has quickly transformed into a serious contender for the next Marvel Disney+ series<\/a>, if writer-director Stephen Ford<\/strong> plays his cards right.<\/p>\n

Episode 4 of\u00a0WandaVision<\/em>\u00a0brought back Randall Park<\/strong>\u00a0as Jimmy Woo, the intrepid FBI agent formerly tasked with babysitting Paul Rudd\u2019s Scott Lang in 2018\u2019s\u00a0Ant-Man and the Wasp<\/em>. The Disney+ series finds him investigating the weird anomaly at Westview alongside a few other Marvel regulars. Woo\u2019s upbeat attitude in the face of the unexplainable captured the attention of\u00a0WandaVision<\/em> viewers, including Ford, a writer, director and actor best known for app<\/a>earing in The CW\u2019s\u00a0Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight<\/em>. Ford\u00a0tweeted<\/a> that he wished to see a spin-off of\u00a0Jimmy Woo \u201cjust working weird cases in the MCU. Like a fun X-Files.\u201d
\nThe tweet took off, and soon Ford revealed that he was working on an actual pitch for a Jimmy Woo spin-off for Marvel.<\/p>\n

\nNothing\u2019s set in stone yet and it\u2019s not even confirmed that Ford has landed a proper meeting with Marvel, but from what we can glean from his tweet, he at least seems to have the ear of someone at the studio. And the idea has earned the support of Park, who\u00a0told\u00a0Screen Rant<\/a>\u00a0he\u2019d be open to doing an\u00a0Agents of Atlas<\/em>\u00a0spinoff with Kat Dennings<\/strong>\u2018 Darcy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat camaraderie is real. I love Kat; I think she\u2019s so amazing and so fun to work with, to work off of and to play with in these scenes. If that were to come up again, I do it in a heartbeat,\u201d Park said.<\/p>\n

With a huge sandbox like Disney+, Marvel Studios could feasibly give its most obscure characters a TV series, and even a minor character like Jimmy Woo could feasibly score his own Disney+ show. I do think most of the appeal of Woo is down to Park\u2019s very charming performance, lending an everyman likability to \u2014 let\u2019s face it \u2014 a kind of nothingburger character. Honestly, I\u2019m not sure if Marvel would benefit from retreading sci-fi procedural waters centering around a likable guy in a suit after\u00a0Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.<\/em> already did just that to mixed success. But Marvel\u2019s Disney+ shows have already established themselves as a different beast with little regard for the ABC shows, so sure, why not.<\/p>\n
