Gal Gadot is coming to the small screen. Apple TV has ordered a new TV show called\u00a0Hedy Lamarr<\/em> with the\u00a0Wonder Woman<\/em> star.<\/p>\n

From Sarah Treem and Warren Littlefield, the drama series \u201cwill follow the incredible life-story of the Hollywood glamour girl, played by Gadot, spanning 30 years from Hedy\u2019s daring escape from pre-war Vienna; to her meteoric rise in the Golden Age of Hollywood; to her fall and eventual disgrace at the dawn of the Cold War.\u201d<\/p>\n

Apple TV has ordered eight episodes of Hedy Lamarr.\u00a0<\/em>Treem and Littlefield will executive produce alongside Gadot, Jaron Varsono, and Katie Robbins. Endeavor Content is the producing studio.<\/p>\n

\u201cHedy Lamarr\u201d to premiere globally on Apple TV , joining star-studded slate of limited series including \u201cDefending Jacob\u201d and the upcoming \u201cLisey\u2019s Story\u201d and \u201cThe Shrink Next Door\u201d<\/p>\n

Apple has given a straight-to-series order to \u201cHedy Lamarr,\u201d a new eight-episode limited series starring and executive produced by Gal Gadot (\u201cWonder Woman\u201d franchise), and written and executive produced by Golden Globe Award winner Sarah Treem (\u201cThe Affair,\u201d \u201cHouse of Cards,\u201d \u201cIn Treatment\u201d).<\/p>\n

Hailed as \u201cthe most beautiful woman in the world,\u201d Hedy Lamarr was first exalted and iconized, then destroyed and eventually forgotten by American audiences, all the while keeping her brilliant mind active through a series of inventions, one of which became the basis for the spread spectrum technology<\/a> we use today. The series will follow the incredible life story of the Hollywood glamour girl, spanning 30 years from Hedy\u2019s daring escape from prewar Vienna, to her meteoric rise in the Golden Age of Hollywood, to her fall and eventual disgrace at the dawn of the Cold War. An epic tale of an immigrant woman both ahead of her time and very much a victim to it.<\/p>\n

The notion for the historical drama originated from Gadot and producing partner Jaron Varsano (\u201cMy Dearest Fidel\u201d), who then partnered with Emmy and BAFTA Award winner Warren Littlefield (\u201cThe Handmaid\u2019s Tale\u201d) and Treem, the latter of whom created the series. In addition to Gadot and Treem, \u201cHedy Lamarr\u201d will be executive produced by Littlefield and Katie Robbins (\u201cThe Affair\u201d). Gadot and Varsano will produce through their production company, Pilot Wave. Adam Haggiag (\u201cBombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story\u201d) and Alexandra Dean (\u201cBombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story\u201d) will serve as co-producers, with Hedy Lamarr\u2019s children Anthony Loder and Denise Deluca consulting on the series.<\/p>\n

Endeavor Content serves as the studio on \u201cHedy Lamarr,\u201d which will join a growing lineup on Apple TV of award-winning and hit originals including limited series \u201cDefending Jacob\u201d; upcoming limited series \u201cLisey\u2019s Story,\u201d written and executive produced by Stephen King and starring Academy Award winner Julianne Moore; recently announced limited comedy series \u201cThe Shrink Next Door,\u201d starring Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd; Golden Globe-nominated and Critics Choice and SAG award-winning series \u201cThe Morning Show\u201d; as well as the soon-to-premiere animated musical comedy series \u201cCentral Park\u201d from Emmy Award winner Loren Bouchard, \u201cFrozen\u201d Grammy winner Josh Gad and Emmy winner Nora Smith; \u201cDear\u2026 ,\u201d a new docuseries from Emmy and Peabody Award winner R.J. Cutler; and documentary film \u201cDads\u201d from director Bryce Dallas Howard.<\/p>\n
