Ladies and germs welcome to <em>Beyond Hell<\/em>, the feature-length debut from Canadian director, Alan Murray.<\/p>\n<p>Experienced <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>ler Seth (Sean Ray, <em>Hemlock Grove<\/em>) is back home and ready to share the wealth of his explorations with his friends: Heather (Dominique Smith, <em>Black Lightning<\/em>), Brook (Natalie Jane, \u00a0<em>Vicious Fun<\/em>), Maryssa (Kearsten Johansson), Jake (Sebastian Deery, <em>Psycho Biddies<\/em>) and Tyson (Chris Kapeleris, <em>The Kennedys After Camelot<\/em>). He offers them a drug so natural there are no chemicals in it all. It\u2019s nothing but a plant-based high, babay! Everyone is more or less on board with the notion of taking a drug they\u2019ve never heard of, and which most likely was smuggled in Seth\u2019s butthole to get it through customs, so they quickly tune in and drop out.<span id=\"more-163760\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-163892\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Beyond-Hell-2019-movie-10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"303\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Beyond-Hell-2019-movie-10.jpg 550w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Beyond-Hell-2019-movie-10-310x171.jpg 310w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Beyond-Hell-2019-movie-10-100x55.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Oh, those sweet summer children. Little do they realise that Seth has made a deal with a demon, Belial (Gavin R. Downes) and Seth\u2019s stash is a literal gateway drug. A gateway to Hell! Cue dramatic music.<\/p>\n<p>The first victim is Maryssa who Belial takes quite a fancy to, using her body to dispense of his current beau, Seth. Things only worsen for Maryssa as more bodies start dropping to the ground and all fingers point to her as the culprit.<\/p>\n<p>The spirit is strong with <em>Beyond Hell<\/em>, but the flesh is weak. Suppose you\u2019re going to do a film about demons from another dimension wanting to take over the world. Displaying heavy <em>Wishmaster<\/em> vibes, Belial is an excellent example of practical effects. It\u2019s just a shame the rest of the film doesn\u2019t and can\u2019t live up to it. If we fast forward to the film\u2019s grand finale, which is filmed in a living room, we meet Belial\u2019s horde of naked demons who try to tear Maryssa and company apart. And by a horde, I mean four people. And by naked I mean, they\u2019re wearing unsubtle flesh-coloured Spanx. Who knew the legions of the undead were self-conscious enough to wear body compression undies? Baliel uses his victims\u2019 drug hallucinations to kill them. For example, a jock is ripped apart during a fantasy involving some very bored topless cheerleaders. It feels so much like a <em>Nightmare on Elm Street <\/em>rip off that it just made this critic wish they were indeed just watching that same film. Even <em>Freddy\u2019s Dead<\/em> would go down well at this point. However, it will still test your patience through its lack of pacing and lacklustre <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a>. Demons and drugs seem like such a home run of an idea. When a film can\u2019t even be enjoyed on an ironic level, what have you got left? Danzig\u2019s <em>Verotika<\/em>.
