Sandra Bullock<\/strong> is the latest person to catch a ride on\u00a0Bullet Train<\/em><\/strong>, the upcoming action movie from\u00a0John Wick<\/em> and\u00a0Atomic Blonde<\/em> filmmaker\u00a0David Leitch<\/strong>. The pic stars Brad Pitt,<\/strong> and features a cast that includes Lady Gaga<\/strong>, Joey King<\/strong>, Aaron Taylor Johnson<\/strong>, Brian Tyree Henry<\/strong>, Zazie Beetz<\/strong>, Michael Shannon<\/strong>, Logan Lerman<\/strong>,\u00a0Masi Oka<\/strong>, and Andrew Koji<\/strong>. And now Bullock is on board as well. The film deals with a group of assassins who all end up on the same train.<\/p>\n

Deadline broke the news<\/a> about Sandra Bullock joining the\u00a0Bullet Train<\/em> cast. This will mark the first time Bullock will app<\/a>ear in a movie with Pitt, which is kind of surprising since they\u2019re both such big stars, and they both even appeared in movies<\/a> from the Ocean\u2019s 11<\/em> franchise. But so it goes! In\u00a0Bullet Train<\/em>, \u201cFive assassins find themselves on a Japanese bullet train, realizing that their individual assignments are not unrelated to the others.\u201d
\nThe cast announced so far includes Pitt, Bullock,\u00a0Joey King, Andrew Koji, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Masi Oka, Michael Shannon, Lady Gaga, Logan Lerman, Hiroyuki Sanada, Karen Fukuhara, and Bad Bunny. The Deadline story curiously omits Lady Gaga\u2019s name, which might suggest she\u2019s no longer involved, or they just somehow forgot she was in the movie. But last we checked, she was part of the cast, so it\u2019s safe to assume she\u2019s still on board. For now.<\/p>\n

David Leitch, who co-directed the first\u00a0John Wick<\/em>, and also helmed\u00a0Atomic Blonde<\/em>,\u00a0Deadpool 2<\/em>, and\u00a0Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw<\/em>, is set to direct and oversee the script, which was penned by\u00a0Zak Olkewicz.<\/p>\n

This whole thing sounds like the type of high-concept action pic that puts butts in seats. Filling the film with recognizable faces certainly doesn\u2019t hurt, either. Leitch has fast become one of the best action directors working right now, so I\u2019m always curious to see what he\u2019s doing. That said, his most recent film,\u00a0Hobbs & Shaw<\/em>, was surprisingly kind of a dud. Hopefully, that was a rare misfire and\u00a0Bullet Train<\/em> will be a return to form.<\/p>\n

Filming on\u00a0Bullet Train<\/em> started in November 2020, and it\u2019s not entirely clear how much more there is to go, or when we might even get to see it. Whenever it\u2019s ready,\u00a0Bullet Train<\/em> will be distributed by\u00a0Sony Pictures Releasing.<\/p>\n
