Video meetings can feel dull and repetitive, especially if you\u2019re doing them every day. Zoom has plenty of tools like virtual backgrounds to help liven things up a bit. If that\u2019s not enough, you can change up your app<\/a>earance with some fun, AR facial effects<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition to the virtual backgrounds feature, which is available on Windows, Mac, and Android, Zoom\u2019s \u201cStudio Effects\u201d allow you to change the look of your eyebrows, facial hair, and lips. The 3D effects are similar to AR filters found on Instagram and Snapchat.<\/p>\n

To get started, update to the latest version of Zoom and then jump into a video call on your\u00a0Windows 10 PC<\/a> or Mac<\/a>. Next, click the little arrow next to the \u201cStop Video\u201d button.<\/p>\n

From the pop-up menu, select \u201cChoose Virtual Background\u201d or \u201cChoose Video Filter.\u201d Both will take you to the same place.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re now looking at the virtual backgrounds and video filters. Select \u201cStudio Effects\u201d in the bottom-right corner (it may be labeled as a \u201cBeta\u201d feature). The first time you open Studio Effects, you will be asked to download and install additional files.<\/p>\n

The Studio Effects are comprised of three sections: \u201cEyebrows,\u201d \u201cMustache & Beard,\u201d and \u201cLip Color.\u201d Select any of the effects to instantly apply it to your face.<\/p>\n

When you select eyebrows or facial hair effects, color options will appear underneath. Click one of the pre-loaded colors or select the color wheel to pick a custom color. You can also adjust the transparency of the effect.<\/p>\n

If you want your facial effects to automatically show up in all meetings, check the box for \u201cApply to All Future Meetings.\u201d<\/p>\n

When you\u2019re done, click \u201cClose.\u201d Keep in mind that the facial effects will appear on your video in real-time as you\u2019re customizing them.<\/p>\n
