\n Gov. Andrew Cuomo went over the ledge Monday \u2014 unveiling a bizarre, school-project-like massive styrofoam mountain during a coronavirus briefing that Twitter<\/a> users quickly mocked as something out of a sci-fi flick.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t need to climb another mountain. One mountain was enough. We don\u2019t want to climb a mountain range. \u2026 We don\u2019t want to do it again,\u201d said the governor, standing next to the massive greenish three-dimensional structure that was designed to represent the contagion\u2019s rise and fall in the state.<\/p>\n

Cuomo, who has frequently talked about the state climbing a \u201cmountain\u201d during its battle against the coronavirus, unveiled the display with great flourish, whipping off a blue curtain to present it to the cameras.<\/p>\n

Twitter was swift in its not-so-kind response.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour jedi mind tricks do not work on me governor,\u201d one user wrote next to a picture of the mountain with the face of the \u201cReturn of the Jedi\u201d character Jabba the Hutt from the \u201cStar Wars\u201d movie series<\/a> superimposed on it.<\/p>\n

Another tweeter compared the structure to the Devil\u2019s Tower landmark formation in Wyoming that prominently figured\u00a0in the flick \u201cClose Encounters of the Third Kind.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLooks like that scene for \u201cClose Encounters\u201d when Richard Dreyfuss is compelled to build that mountain in his living room,\u201d the person wrote.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
