After previously announcing<\/span><\/a> that the event would go ahead at Tokyo Big Sight in March, the organizing committee behind AnimeJapan revealed today that the 2021 event would be online only<\/strong>. In a post<\/span><\/a> on the website for the event, the committee says that after "examining the health and safety of all visitors and related parties while looking at the current situation with COVID-19 and the state of emergency issued by the government" "we have decided to cancel the event and make it 'online only'."<\/p>\n

Furthermore, it was announced that Japanese artist Takanori Nishikawa<\/strong>, also known as T.M.Revolution<\/strong>, will be the ambassador for AnimeJapan 2021, and will be participating in an online presentation on February 18 at 7:30 PM with voice actors Ryota Suzuki <\/strong>(Yu Ishigami in KAGUYA-SAMA: LOVE IS WAR<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/a>) and Mayu Mineda<\/strong> (Hazuki Yuiga in We Never Learn: BOKUBEN<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/a>) to talk about the upcoming event and its "charm."<\/p>\n
