Star <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a> \u00adreporter Donald McNeil Jr. was \u201cousted\u201d after staff complained the paper hadn\u2019t punished him enough for using the N-word when responding to a student\u2019s question \u201cabout whether one of her classmates should have been suspended for using\u201d the word. A labor reporter pointedly asked what \u201ch<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened to the notion of worker solidarity.\u201d After the paper\u2019s editor declared the Times doesn\u2019t \u201ctolerate racist language regardless of \u00adintent,\u201d Sibarium asked 1619 Project founder Nikole Hannah-Jones to comment on her use of the N-word on social media. \u201cShe responded by posting this \u00adreporter\u2019s inquiry, including his cell-phone number, on Twitter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Iconoclast: The Racism of \u2018Anti-Racists\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.persuasion.community\/p\/john-mcwhorter-the-neoracists\">At Persuasion, John McWhorter explains<\/a> how the new \u201cThird Wave Anti-Racism\u201d movement is, in fact, neoracist. It \u201cteaches that racism is baked into the structure of society, so whites\u2019 \u2018complicity\u2019 in living within it constitutes racism itself,\u201d while \u201cgrappling with the racism surrounding them is the totality of experience\u201d for blacks, who thus deserve \u201cexquisite sensitivity,\u201d including \u201ca suspension of standards of achievement and conduct.\u201d Indeed, it\u2019s a sort of religion that \u201cforces us to spend endless amounts of time listening to nonsense presented as wisdom and pretend to like it.\u201d Most demeaningly, it aims to teach his own daughters \u201cthat what makes them interesting is what other people think of them or don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conservative: The GOP Will Live Another Day<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As former President Donald Trump faces trial in the Senate, \u201cthe \u00adRepublican Party faces the possibility of a crack-up,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/spectator.us\/topic\/death-republican-right\/\">warns Daniel McCarthy at Spectator USA<\/a>. \u201cThe prophets of Republican collapse\u201d predict Trump will \u201cbolt the party and build a new one of his own,\u201d but they forget the \u201cparty has defied the most confident predictions of its demise before,\u201d including after Barry Goldwater\u2019s 1964 \u201clandslide defeat\u201d and Watergate. While \u201cdivisions within the GOP are irreconcilable,\u201d a new party would hurt both camps. No matter what, \u201centropy will keep the party and the right alive, though their gains will only be prelude to the next crisis and yet more prophecies of doom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the right: The Promise of a Pro-Worker GOP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>America\u2019s major parties have switched roles, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/newrepublic.com\/article\/161113\/republican-working-class-agenda-hawley-rubio\">observes Christopher Cald\u00adwell at The New Republic<\/a>, with Democrats emerging as \u201cthe party of education and prestige\u201d and Republicans increasingly representing the global economy\u2019s losers. Yet \u201cRepublicans themselves have been slow to take \u00adaccount of this reversal,\u201d ignoring warnings that the party\u2019s proletarian base was underserved and angry until candidate Donald Trump took his famous escalator ride in 2015. Trump\u2019s presidency \u201cworked out well for American workers,\u201d yet too often his administration fell back on Reaganite orthodoxies. But a new generation \u2014 Sens. Josh Hawley, Marco Rubio and Tom Cotton \u2014 could pick up the mantle of a \u201cworking-class party\u201d favoring tight labor markets, opposing Big Tech and other oligarchic powers and maintaining a hawkish line on China and trade. If they survive the next four years, these leaders will \u00ad\u201cembrace the sort of policies Democrats followed when they were the party of the workers and the Republicans the party of the bosses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Liberal: Behind 2020\u2019s Gun-Violence Surge<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nymag.com\/intelligencer\/amp\/2021\/02\/america-saw-a-historic-rise-in-murders-in-2020-why.html\">At New York magazine, Jesse Singal examines<\/a> 2020\u2019s \u201chistoric\u201d upturn in murders \u2014 21 percent through September, the FBI reports. Experts blame a \u201cconfluence of forces\u201d: \u201cSkyrocketing tension between communities and law enforcement following the killing of George Floyd sparked a second crisis\u201d on top of COVID-19. The pandemic \u201cthinned the ranks of on-duty police\u201d and led to less interaction between cops and communities. Social services \u2014 schools, after-school programs, sports \u2014 were disrupted.
