Shortly afterwards, prices of the asset skyrocketed to a new all-time high of a little over $48,000.<\/p>\n<p>Partner at Linklaters and former branch chief of the SEC&#8217;s division of enforcement, Doug Davison, told the UK\u2019s<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/technology\/2021\/02\/09\/elon-musk-faces-sec-probe-teslas-15bn-bitcoin-bet\/\"> Telegraph<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>paper:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It would not be surprising\u2014given the focus on the chief executive&#8217;s Tweets, Bitcoin pricing and recent dramatic market moves\u2014for the SEC to ask questions about the facts and circumstances here,&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Former vice president of the European Central Bank, Vitor Const\u00e2ncio, echoed the sentiment concluding that the \u201cSEC will look into this,\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It was not disclosed when Tesla had made this investment. In December, Musk said that Tesla could buy bitcoin, and this was followed by many statements that he supported bitcoin. Bitcoin kept going up &amp; Tesla investment has <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>reciated. The SEC will look into this 5\/<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Vitor Const\u00e2ncio (@VMRConstancio) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VMRConstancio\/status\/1358853974045122562?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 8, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission have the ability to investigate should they suspect market manipulation.<\/p>\n<p>Musk has been very vocal on Twitter shilling Bitcoin and DOGE on numerous occasions which contributed to Bitcoin activity on the social media platform spiking to its highest levels. DOGE spiked to new all time highs following Musk\u2019s endorsement.<\/p>\n<p>There is little doubt that Tesla\u2019s public foray into Bitcoin, and Musk\u2019s influential tweets to his 46.5 million followers, have contributed to this latest price spike.<\/p>\n<p>He is still currently shilling Dogecoin with this recent tweet late on Feb. 10 stating he is buying the asset. DOGE spiked 13% following that particular tweet a few hours ago.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Bought some Dogecoin for lil X, so he can be a toddler hodler<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1359519541219500033?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 10, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Musk is no stranger to Twitter controversy; he has been previously accused of<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/elon-musk-coronavirus-tweets-misinformation\/\"> posting misinformation<\/a> on the platform regarding Covid-19 and the closure of one of his factories.<\/p>\n<p>In another incident he<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1256239815256797184\"> suggested<\/a> that Tesla stock price was too high, resulting in a subsequent price slide.
