By default, whenever you set up a \u201cWindows Hello\u201d login method such as a fingerprint reader, facial recognition scan, or PIN, Windows 10 will disable the password login method. If you\u2019d like to log in to your Windows account with a password again, here\u2019s how to get that option back.<\/p>\n

First, open Settings. Click the \u201cgear\u201d icon in your Start menu or press Windows+i on your keyboard to open it quickly.<\/p>\n

In Settings, select \u201cAccounts.\u201d<\/p>\n

In \u201cAccounts,\u201d look in the sidebar and select \u201cSign-in options.\u201d<\/p>\n

In \u201cSign-in options,\u201d scroll down until you see \u201cRequire Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts.\u201d Flip the switch beneath it to \u201cOff.\u201d<\/p>\n

After that, close Settings. The next time you log out or lock the screen (Press Windows+L to lock the screen quickly if you\u2019d like to test.), you\u2019ll have the password sign-in option available to you again. Best of all, you can still use the Windows Hello sign-in options if you want.<\/p>\n
