The Game of Thrones<\/em> prequel series<\/a>, set 300 years before the events of the mega-hit fantasy show, has just added four more names to its cast \u2013 including someone who is playing an intriguing character nicknamed \u201cThe Sea Snake.\u201d Get the details below.<\/p>\n

HBO has revealed that Steve Toussaint<\/strong>, Eve Best<\/strong>, Rhys Ifans<\/strong>, and Sonoya Mizuno<\/strong> are the latest actors to join the House of the Dragon<\/em> cast. Here\u2019s who they\u2019ll be playing.<\/p>\n

\nToussaint, whom you might recognize from his role as Kenneth Logan in Steve McQueen\u2019s recent Small Axe<\/em> installment\u00a0Red, White, and Blue<\/em>, is playing\u00a0Lord Corlys Velaryon, also known as \u201cThe Sea Snake.\u201d<\/p>\n

The lord of House Velaryon, a Valyrian bloodline as old as House Targaryen, \u201cThe Sea Snake,\u201d is the most famed nautical adventurer in the history of Westeros. He built his house into a powerful seat that is even richer than the Lannisters and that claims the largest navy in the world.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Best recently app<\/a>eared in the Netflix fantasy series Fate: The Winx Saga<\/em>. She\u2019ll play\u00a0Princess Rhaenys Velaryon.<\/p>\n

A dragonrider and wife to Lord Corlys Velaryon, \u201cThe Queen Who Never Was\u201d was passed over as heir to the throne at the Great Council because the realm favored her cousin, Viserys, simply for being male.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Ifans, who has appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man<\/em> and Notting Hill<\/em>, is playing Otto Hightower.<\/p>\n

[Otto is]\u00a0the Hand of the King, who loyally and faithfully serves both his king and his realm. As the Hand sees it, the greatest threat to the realm is the king\u2019s brother, Daemon, and his position as heir to the throne.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And finally, you\u2019ll recognize Mizuno from her starring role in Devs<\/em> and supporting parts in Ex Machina<\/em> and Maniac<\/em>. She\u2019ll play a character named\u00a0Mysaria.<\/p>\n

She came to Westeros with nothing, sold more times than she can recall, and could have wilted\u2026but instead she rose to become the most trusted \u2014 and most unlikely \u2014 ally of Prince Daemon Targaryen, the heir to the throne.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

They\u2019ll be joining\u00a0Paddy Considine<\/strong>\u00a0(Hot Fuzz<\/em>),\u00a0Matt Smith<\/strong>\u00a0(Doctor Who<\/em>), and\u00a0Emma D\u2019Arcy\u00a0<\/strong>(Truth Seekers<\/em>), who had previously been cast as members of House Targaryen. Considine will take on the crown and play King Viserys Targaryen; Smith will play the dragon-riding heir to the throne, Prince Daemon Targaryen; and D\u2019Arcy is playing Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, who is also a dragonrider. Actress\u00a0Olivia Cooke<\/strong>\u00a0(Sound of Metal<\/em>) will be playing Otto Hightower\u2019s daughter, a politically savvy woman who is described as \u201cthe most comely woman in the Seven Kingdoms.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show begins production this April, and is expected to debut on HBO sometime in 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
