{"id":176235,"date":"2021-02-12T01:10:16","date_gmt":"2021-02-11T22:10:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/egyptian-12-year-old-teaches-neighbors-during-school-closure\/"},"modified":"2021-02-12T01:10:16","modified_gmt":"2021-02-11T22:10:16","slug":"egyptian-12-year-old-teaches-neighbors-during-school-closure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/egyptian-12-year-old-teaches-neighbors-during-school-closure\/","title":{"rendered":"#Egyptian 12-year-old teaches neighbors during school closure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Egyptian 12-year-old teaches neighbors during school closure<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>ATMIDAH, Egypt  \u2013 Every day up to 30 children gather for school lessons in a narrow village street in Egypt\u2019s northern Dakahlia province.<\/p>\n<p>Their teacher is 12-year-old Reem El-Khouly, who started offering instruction to her younger neighbors in Atmidah, about 50 miles northeast of Cairo, when schools across Egypt were shut due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought that instead of having them play in the street, I can teach them,\u201d said Khouly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wake up in the morning, pray and I call them to start the classes. I teach them Arabic, mathematics, religion and English.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Khouly started using just a notebook before being given a blackboard and some chalk.
