Analysts surveyed by FactSet were modeling 81 cents a share in GAAP earnings.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       Affirm\u2019s<br \/>\n        AFRM,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/223715966\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+2.76%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       revenue rose to $204.0 million from $130 million, while analysts had been projecting $189.4 million. Affirm\u2019s gross merchandise volume rose to $2.1 billion from $1.3 billion, above the FactSet consensus, which called for $1.7 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the beats relative to the FactSet consensus, shares were off more than 8% in after-hours trading. <\/p>\n<p>Barclays analyst Ramsey El-Assal wrote that the stock movement following the report might reflect more muted outperformance on the company\u2019s merchant-revenue line item, made up of the fees that businesses pay Affirm when people use its installment options, as well as potentially loftier expectations from the buy side. <\/p>\n<p>In addition, Affirm shares are up more than 180% from their January IPO price, versus a roughly 7% gain for the Nasdaq Composite Index<br \/>\n        COMP,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210598365\/realtime\" class=\"positive\">+0.38%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       over that span, which El-Assal said could also help explain the stock\u2019s selloff following the results. <\/p>\n<p>Chief Executive Max Levchin told MarketWatch that the company saw a greater diversification of revenue among its merchant partners in the latest quarter. While Peloton Interactive Inc.<br \/>\n        PTON,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/208035743\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+0.99%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       accounted for 30% of revenue in the September quarter,  it was responsible for 24% in the December period. This indicated to Levchin that the company is \u201cgrowing our non-Peloton user base faster while also h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ily growing with Peloton\u201d as Affirm both grew volume within its existing merchant base and added new partners.  <\/p>\n<p>Affirm had 4.5 million active customers as of the quarter, up from 3.6 million as of the June quarter. <\/p>\n<p>The company disclosed that in calendar-year 2020, about two-thirds of purchases came from repeat Affirm users. Affirm grew its active customer base by 52% and its merchant base by 90% from a year prior. <\/p>\n<p>The report was Affirm\u2019s first since going public a month ago. <\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<p>The company forecast fiscal third-quarter revenue of $185 million to $195 million, while analysts were projecting $189 million. Affirm expects gross merchandise volume of $1.80 billion to $1.85 billion, above the FactSet consensus, which called to $1.75 billion. <\/p>\n<p>For the full fiscal year, Affirm called for $760 million to $780 million in revenue and $7.25 billion to $7.35 billion in GMV.
