Additionally, over 70% of the members on Bumble\u2019s board are women, according to its <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1830043\/000119312521009745\/d20761ds1.htm\" class=\"icon none\">SEC filing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-02-11\/bumble-s-31-year-old-ceo-becomes-a-rare-female-billionaire\" class=\"icon none\">Hopefully this will not be a rare headline,\u201d Wolfe Herd told Bloomberg<\/a> of Bumble\u2019s being a female-led company. \u201cHopefully this will be the norm. It\u2019s the right thing to do, it\u2019s a priority for us, and it should be a priority for everyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>She invested in another dating app called Chappy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2016, Bumble and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2016\/12\/14\/bumble-invests-in-gay-dating-app-chappy\/?guccounter=1\" class=\"icon none\">Wolfe Herd invested in a dating app called Chappy<\/a>. The app was designed for gay men in the U.K.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, the app was shut down and a merger with Bumble announced.<\/p>\n<p><strong>She championed legislation that made digital sexual harassment a crime<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wolfe Herd, who attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas and whose company is headquartered in Austin, was a driving force for Texas legislation, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2019\/08\/14\/Texas-new-law-sending-unwanted-nudes-dating-apps-texts\/\" class=\"icon none\">signed by Gov. Greg Abbott in 2019<\/a>,  that made sending lewd photographs without permission a crime in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The legislation made such acts a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine up to $500. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.texasmonthly.com\/news\/texas-may-outlaw-unsolicited-sexual-images-would-that-be-enforceable-and-does-it-even-matter\/\" class=\"icon none\">Wolfe Herd testified in front of the Texas House Criminal Jurisprudence committee<\/a> on the subject.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B1hdo41n7uT\/\" class=\"icon none\">It is time that our laws mirror this way we lead double lives, in the physical and the digital<\/a>,\u201d Wolfe Herd said. \u201cYou look at government right now, it only protects the physical world.
