\n Some high-end Manhattan hotels aren\u2019t thoroughly cleaning rooms between guests amid the coronavirus pandemic, a new report found.<\/p>\n

Three different Midtown hotels didn\u2019t even bother to change pillowcases or wipe down commonly used surfaces, according to an investigation by Inside Edition set to air Monday night.<\/p>\n

Producers with the TV program booked rooms at each of the hotels and used a washable spray to app<\/a>ly an Inside Edition logo \u2014 only visible under UV light \u2014 to the pillows, bed sheets and bath towels.<\/p>\n

They also doused commonly touched surfaces, like the TV remote, thermostat and desk with a special washable gel.<\/p>\n

The next day, using a new reservation under a different name, they checked-in to the same room to see if the linens had been changed and surfaces wiped down.<\/p>\n

At the Hyatt Place Times Square, the logo was still visible on the bedsheets and pillowcase under UV light \u2014 indicating they hadn\u2019t been replaced, the report found.<\/p>\n

While the desk had been wiped down and the towel replaced, the gel was visible on the remote control when placed under UV light.<\/p>\n

A few blocks away at the Hampton Inn Times Square Central, the sheets and a pillowcase weren\u2019t changed either and neither the remote control nor thermostat were wiped down, according to the report.<\/p>\n

At the Trump International Hotel overlooking Central Park, the sheets and towels were changed. But the pillowcase wasn\u2019t and the desk and the remote control weren\u2019t wiped down.<\/p>\n

A Hyatt spokesperson told the program they were \u201cdeeply concerned\u201d about the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are working with the hotel\u2019s owner to ensure the hotel is implementing proper cleaning protocols that are consistent with Hyatt\u2019s commitment to cleanliness for the safety and wellbeing of our guests,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Hampton Inn said it had conducted an investigation of their own and found that \u201cour housekeeping team relied on a visual inspection of the room\u2019s cleanliness to determine which areas received attention, deviating from our protocols.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a violation of our standards to thoroughly clean each room,\u201d the statement said. \u201cBoth our housekeeping team and management apologize for this mistake and we are retraining our team members to reinforce our procedures.\u201d<\/p>\n

A rep for the Trump International Hotel didn\u2019t return the program\u2019s request for comment.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
