“#Gintama’s Original Manga<\/a> Editor Reveals Gintoki’s True Age<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

The original editor of Gintama<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/em> at Weekly Shonen Jump\u00a0revealed\u00a0the true age of Gintoki last night during a special live-stream for the Gintama: THE FINAL<\/strong><\/em> anime film.\u00a0Kohei Onishi<\/strong>, who has also edited for One Piece<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/a>, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/a>, and is also currently the editor-in-chief of\u00a0media<\/a> at Jump, recalled back when Gintama<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em>started serialization in Jump, he asked Hideaki Sorachi<\/strong> how old Gintoki<\/strong> was.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Onishi<\/strong>,\u00a0Sorachi<\/strong> replied that at the start of the manga series<\/a>, Gintoki was 27 years old<\/strong>. This means during the events of Gintama: THE FINAL<\/strong><\/em>, the leader of\u00a0Yorozuya is 29 years old.\u00a0Japanese fans were surprised at Gin’s age,\u00a0which for a Shonen Jump protagonist is quite older than the average ages of Jump heroes.<\/p>\n
