\u201cChappelle\u2019s Show\u201d is back on Netflix \u2014 and this time it has Dave Chappelle\u2019s blessing, who says he got \u201cmillions of dollars\u201d after hard-knuckle contract negotiations with the streaming giant. <\/p>\n

In an Instagram video clip posted<\/a> Thursday, the comedia<\/a>n said the Comedy Central show he created and famously left was returning to Netflix on Friday \u2014 just over two months after it was\u00a0yanked at his request<\/a>. <\/p>\n

In the 10-minute, 46-second video, Chappelle also revealed that his well-publicized call for a boycott of the program over a royalty dispute is what ultimately what paved the way for his new and lucrative deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked you to stop watching the show and thank God almighty for you, you did,\u201d Chappelle said. \u201cYou made that show worthless because without your eyes it\u2019s nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd when you stopped watching it, they called me. And I got my name back and I got my license back and I got my show back and they paid me millions of dollars. Thank you very much.\u201d<\/p>\n

Called \u201cRedemption Song,\u201d the video shows Chappelle speaking about getting coronavirus<\/a>, the recent insurrection in Washington DC, and people needing to know \u201cwhere their power lies\u201d<\/p>\n

He also rehashed his yearslong dispute with Comedy Central, where \u201cChappelle\u2019s Show\u201d originally ran from 2003 to 2006, and his demands that they pay him royalties for any syndication deals, adding, \u201cI know where my power lies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chappelle thanked Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos for having \u201cthe courage to take show off its platform at a financial detriment to his company, just because I asked him to.\u201d He also thanked Chris McCarthy of ViacomCBS for \u201cmaking the past right,\u201d by completing the deal.<\/p>\n

He ended the clip by concluding, \u201cafter all these years, I can finally say to Comedy Central, \u2018It\u2019s been a pleasure doing business with you.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Netflix didn\u2019t immediately respond to requests for comment on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cChappelle\u2019s Show\u201d had begun streaming on Netflix in the US Nov. 1. In an 18-minute video of his standup released on Nov. 24, Chappelle talked about the terrible contract he signed with Comedy Central and revealed that he had asked Netflix to pull the show, which they subsequently did.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople think I made a lot of money from\u00a0\u2018Chappelle\u2019s Show,’\u201d he said. \u201cWhen I left that show I never got paid. They didn\u2019t have to pay me because I signed the contract. But is that right? I found out that these people were streaming my work and they never had to ask me or they never have to tell me. Perfectly legal because I signed the contract. But is that right? I didn\u2019t think so, either.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sketch comedy show\u00a0was a major hit for Comedy Central and catapulted the comedian\u2019s career. But after signing a reported $50 million deal ahead of the show\u2019s third season, Chappelle shockingly quit the series<\/a>, citing the stress of producing the show and his increasing discomfort with the material in its sketches.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
