\nThe Notorious B.I.G.\u2019s first documentary app<\/a>roved by the late legend\u2019s estate is finally coming to Netflix. The streaming service revealed on Monday (February 15)\u00a0Biggie: I Got A Story To Tell<\/em> arrives on the streaming giant on March 1.<\/p>\n

Hip Hop mogul Diddy, who made Biggie the Bad Boy Records golden child, the Brooklyn luminary\u2019s mother Voletta Wallace and Biggie\u2019s estate manager Wayne Barrow are all on board as producers for the Netflix project, while his widow Faith Evans, Lil Cease (Junior M.A.F.I.A.) and other friends and loved ones make appearances throughout the film.<\/p>\n

I Got A Story To Tell<\/em> was originally announced in 2017 under the title One More Chance<\/em>, but it took nearly four years to come to fruition. Netflix expects the documentary to offer \u201ca fresh look at one of the greatest, most influential rappers of all time by those who knew him best.\u201d<\/p>\n

The film will examine Biggie \u2014 born Christopher Wallace \u2014 and his talents before blossoming into a superstar rapper mostly through the eyes of one of his childhood friends\u00a0Damian \u201cD Roc\u201d Butler.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe running joke about documentary films is often how long they take to make,\u201d\u00a0director Emmett Malloy relayed to\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0\u201cThis film lived up to all those stereotypes, taking us four years to develop and make it. Through those years we were immersed in Brooklyn in the 1970s through the 1990s.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cIt is easy to see how much Brooklyn has changed since Christopher Wallace was a kid, but it\u2019s also clear that many things about being a young black man in this country have not changed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Biggie, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020, was shot and killed in 1997 at just 24 years old.<\/p>\n
