\n A pair of birdbrained Ryanair pilots ruffled some feathers after one was captured on video using a rubber chicken to operate the plane\u2019s throttle, according to a report.<\/p>\n

The footage captured by one of the Boeing 737\u2019s pilots shows the first officer using the red and yellow faux chicken with mouth agape to push the throttle forward, The Sun reported.<\/p>\n

He also is shown squeezing the toy to make it squeak, prompting the crew to burst out laughing as passengers boarded the flight in Birmingham, England, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n

The co-pilot also is seen sticking his tongue out and crossing his eyes \u2014 and one snap shows rosary beads strung over the two engine throttles.<\/p>\n

The Irish budget airline\u2019s brass have launched an investigation into the \u201cunprofessional\u201d cockpit actions, The Sun reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese pictures and video show crew on the ground in a parked aircraft with the engines shut down. While the images are unprofessional, the actions in them posed no risk and safety was never compromised,\u201d a Ryanair rep told the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe encourage our crew to enjoy their work. However, we expect them to remain professional at all times and we are investigating the matter further.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aviation safety consultant David Gleave also said the pilots didn\u2019t run afowl of safety considerations.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a fun video which is entertaining and de-stressing the pilots, and probably designed to be shared among their friends, but you could argue it damages the brand,\u201d he told The Sun.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no risk to the public. In the grand scheme of things, I don\u2019t see much wrong,\u201d Gleave added.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
