For once, he wasn\u2019t wrong. <\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s not the on-screen drama that\u2019s been so explosive. On <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a>, a movement has errupted within Bachelor Nation that\u2019s questioning the purpose and necessity of \u201cThe Bachelor\u201d itself. <\/p>\n<p>Harrison <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/02\/13\/chris-harrison-taking-leave-from-the-bachelor-after-excusing-racism\/\">has temporarily stepped down<\/a> from hosting the show after excusing the racist actions of contestant Rachael Kirkconnell, in an interview with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/02\/12\/rachel-lindsay-says-shes-leaving-the-bachelor-franchise\/\">Rachel Lindsay<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy excusing historical racism, I defended it. I invoked the term \u2018woke police,\u2019 which is unacceptable,\u201d Harrison, 49, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CLPmjrFgEv8\/?utm_source=ig_embed\">wrote in an Instagram post<\/a> on Saturday. \u201cI am ashamed over how uninformed I was. I was wrong. I have consulted with Warner Bros. and ABC and will be stepping aside for a period of time\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harrison\u00a0was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/02\/11\/bachelor-host-chris-harrison-apologizes-for-perpetuating-racism\/\">addressing his treatment<\/a>\u00a0of former \u201cBachelorette\u201d Lindsay during an interview with her about one-time \u201cBachelor\u201d frontrunner Kirkconnell, who has faced accusations of racism, including partaking in an event that glorified the Antebellum era. Kirkconnell also\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/02\/11\/rachael-kirkconnell-breaks-silence-on-bachelor-backlash\/\">released a statement<\/a>\u00a0of her own, calling her ignorance \u201cracist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So, it\u2019s been a bombshell week for the franchise, with many of the usual viewers \u2014 and even its current stars \u2014 opting out of watching Monday night\u2019s episode in solidarity with the mistreated castmates of color. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter aligncenter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-wrapper twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">In light of everything going on, no I will not be watching tonight\u2019s episode. I encourage those who do choose to watch to consider the lens in which each woman is being portrayed. Because most of the season has been filmed, Harrison\u2019s removal won\u2019t be noticed on-screen until the \u201cAfter the Final Rose\u201d special, during the finale. I expected ABC to start the show with a statement from them or Harrison, acknowledging his remorse for the pain he\u2019s caused to the full broadcast audience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spoiler alert:<\/strong> <em>Major reveals from the episode follow.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Instead, everything was normal. And though this episode was was wild \u2014 half the remaining women were sent home \u2014 it was hard to give into the show\u2019s twists and turns, knowing so much more is going on in Bachelor Nation that actually matters. <\/p>\n<p>But nonetheless, here\u2019s what went down on Epsiode 7. <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_cocktail_party\"><\/span>The cocktail party<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Newcomer Heather Martin introduced herself to Matt. Though he was delighted to see her, he didn\u2019t feel right bringing her on so late into the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>. So back to her minivan she went. Guess all the quarantine was for nothing.<\/p>\n<p>In her short time on the show, she did get a taste of what this season is like: pissed that she dare try to come for their man, most of the gals went on the attack and berated Heather. I\u2019m sure she was h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>y with Matt\u2019s decision. <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_rose_ceremony\"><\/span>The rose ceremony <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Chelsea, who was my favorite, got sent home, as did Serena C. And then there were eight. <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_first_one-on-one\"><\/span>The first one-on-one <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Though Abigail and Jessenia both expected to get the solo outing, as they were the only ones left who hadn\u2019t recieved the honor, Matt picked Serena P. to spend the day alone with him. On her first one-on-one during the third episode, Serena and Matt rode horses and had a romantic picnic. <\/p>\n<p>This time around, they had to do tantric yoga. The couple was forced into sex position-style stretches. Serena was visably uncomfortable and told Matt so. It\u2019s a shame she was put into this position as a form of entertainment for others. Instead of some inoucuous, silly activity, he asked the women to get everything they needed to tell him off their chests. <\/p>\n<p>Bri pulled him aside to let him know that she had to quit her job as a communications manager to continue her journey with Matt. Michelle told him that she\u2019s absoultely commited to their relationship. Rachael confirmed that she and Matt feel the same about each other. <\/p>\n<p>Abigail, armed with the knowledge she won\u2019t be getting a full solo date with him, went all in. After a speech about how much she sees a future with him, she asked Matt where they stand. \u201cI was so comfortable in our relationship that I explored other relationships, and in exploring those relationships with other women\u2026 I did grow strong feelings for them,\u201d he told her. \u201cMy hearts going in another direction, I apologize.\u201d He walked her out, and she left. <\/p>\n<p>Kit told Matt that she needs a partner who will <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/02\/06\/inside-kit-keenans-nyc-life-family-and-job-before-the-bachelor\/\">support her career ambitions<\/a>, and would be ok waiting to start a family until she\u2019s done so. Matt promised her he would be there for her. <\/p>\n<p>But, he gave the date\u2019s rose to Rachael. <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"After_the_date\"><\/span>After the date<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Knowing that she could be getting engaged in a few short weeks, Kit decided to pay Matt a visit. They learned how to do some cool car tricks. But amid a sea of twinkly lights and dinner, the two tried to release their spark. <\/p>\n<p>Jessenia told Matt she was falling in love with him, but Matt wasn\u2019t there yet. \u201cKnowing that you deserve unwavering love and respect, knowing that I can\u2019t give you that love right now, I can\u2019t give you this rose,\u201d he told her, sending her home. <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_rose_ceremony-2\"><\/span>The rose ceremony<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This left Bri, Michelle, Pieper, Rachael and Serena P., with Serena and Rachael definetly going into next week. Only two others would recieve flowers. <\/p>\n<p>Matt chose Bri and Michelle, sending Pieper home. She was in love with Matt, and  couldn\u2019t even say goodbye to him. <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Prediction\"><\/span>Prediction <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I want ABC to know that we\u2019re expecting them to do more than give Chris Harrison a vacation and push this scandal under the rug. They need to bring it forward and tackle it head on, or they\u2019ll lose the fanbase that\u2019s made \u201cThe Bachelor\u201d what it is. <\/p>\n<p>I hope next week\u2019s episode follow\u2019s suit, with at least some sort of acknowledgment of the current state of affairs.
