\nAll in all, this is a pretty solid line-up. It\u2019s nice to see\u00a0Palm Springs<\/em> getting awards season attention, and while I have issues with\u00a0Trial of the Chicago 7<\/em>, Aaron Sorkin\u2019s writing remains punchy and snapp<\/a>y enough to warrant consideration.<\/p>\n

Now, let\u2019s move on to adapted screenplay, shall we?\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Okay, I\u2019m just going to say it \u2013 it\u2019s weird that\u00a0Borat<\/em> landed a screenplay nomination. Obviously, the movie involves heavily scripted elements, but it just seems\u2026odd to me. I\u2019m also incredibly disappointed that\u00a0I\u2019m Thinking of Ending Things<\/em> didn\u2019t earn a nomination, as I consider it to be a stellar adaptation. In fact, I think it\u2019s even better than the book it was based on.<\/p>\n

Finally, here are the nominees for documentary screenplay.\n<\/p><\/div>\n

I actually haven\u2019t seen\u00a0any<\/em> of these docs, so I can\u2019t really comment! But good job, everyone! You did it!\n<\/div>\n
