We Add Up the Clues<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div><strong>[WARNING: The following contains MAJOR spoilers for <em>WandaVision<\/em> Episodes 5 and 6.]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Those annoyed by how quickly Pietro Maximoff (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) died in <em>Avengers: Age of Ultron<\/em> have at least been able to see him resurrected in <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/tvinsider.com\/show\/wandavision\"><em>WandaVision<\/em><\/a>. Or have they?<\/p>\n<p>Yes, Wanda\u2019s (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/tvinsider.com\/people\/elizabeth-olsen\">Elizabeth Olsen<\/a>) late brother seems to be back, at least within the invisible walls of Westview. But there\u2019s also been much fan chatter that the new Quicksilver, played by the <em>X-Men<\/em> cinematic universe\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/tvinsider.com\/people\/evan-peters\">Evan Peters<\/a>, is not who he says he is. We pull together the clues that he\u2019s an imposter, and take a guess at who he is.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Wanda_Didnt_Know_He_Was_Coming\"><\/span>Wanda Didn\u2019t Know He Was Coming<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Throughout the Halloween episode, Wanda is baffled by her brother\u2019s presence. When she asks him how he ended up in Westview, he says he remembers dying (which is weird, but we\u2019ll get to that later), and then nothing, until he heard his sister calling his name. A sweet example of sibling affection? A heartbreaking example of Wanda\u2019s grief? Well, perhaps.<\/p>\n<p>But Pietro\u2019s presence seems to be the most solid indicator that someone other than Wanda is capable of pulling strings in the town, whether that\u2019s Agnes (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/tvinsider.com\/people\/kathryn-hahn\">Kathryn Hahn<\/a>), who darn well might be Agatha Harkness, or someone else entirely. At the very least, if Wanda\u2019s being honest that she didn\u2019t magic Pietro back to life, then someone else did\u2026or, of course, Pietro\u2019s not Pietro, and he\u2019s lying to his \u201csister\u201d about who he is and why he\u2019s there.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"He_Doesnt_Act_Like_Pietro\"><\/span>He Doesn\u2019t Act Like Pietro<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>For one, Pietro has no Sokovian accent. (Yes, Wanda has been slowly losing hers throughout the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a>, but still\u2026)<\/p>\n<p>Pietro also remembers parts of their childhood differently than Wanda, such as how Halloween was spent (he waves this away by saying she\u2019s blocked it because of the trauma). He also misremembers his own death, saying he \u201cgot shot in the street like a chump for no reason at all.\u201d While died saving a child and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). That\u2019s definitely a reason.<\/p>\n<p>The evidence continues to mount toward the end of the episode. Pietro, for instance, asks Wanda how she created the Westview Hex and congratulates her on the display of her powers. Think back to the Pietro who <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared in <em>Ultron<\/em>. Vision (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/tvinsider.com\/people\/paul-bettany\">Paul Bettany<\/a>) doesn\u2019t remember dying or his life outside the Hex, but Pietro knows Vision is dead \u2014 yet he died long before Vision, so how does he know this?<\/p>\n<p>It seems as if Pietro must be visiting from the \u201coutside,\u201d much like Monica (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/tvinsider.com\/people\/teyona-parris\">Teyonah Parris<\/a>), who remembered Ultron even when she was in the Hex. But in the outside world, Pietro is dead, so that\u2019s\u2026impossible? As for Wanda having \u201ccreated\u201d him, this would\u2019ve taken away the memory of his death as she it did for Vision\u2019s.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"So_Who_is_He\"><\/span>So, Who is He?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>One possibility is Mephisto, who\u2019s basically Marvel\u2019s version of the devil. He can shape shift and manipulate memories, among a long, long list of other powers. In the comics, Mephisto plays a key role in Wanda and Vision having twins; turns out, their kids were created using pieces of Mephisto\u2019s soul, which he then absorbs for their power. That connection to Wanda, and this specific story in <em>WandaVision<\/em>, makes Pietro\u2019s quip about the kids being \u201cdemon spawn\u201d a lot more meaningful.<\/p>\n<p>Another possibility is Nightmare, who, in the comics feeds off the energy of (you guessed it!) nightmares. It\u2019s possible Nightmare is looking for a way to harness the power of Wanda\u2019s slowly turning-nightmarish Hex \u2014 and that would fit with the commercial in Episode 6, in which the shark survives by \u201csnackin\u2019 on Yo-Magic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For now, it\u2019s hard to say just who Pietro might be, but it\u2019s not hard to see that things just aren\u2019t quite right with him.
