Bam Margera\u00a0has revealed that he\u2019s officially fired from \u201cJackass 4\u201d \u2014 days after announcing he was seeking treatment for mental health issues. <\/p>\n

Sources close to the 41-year-old said producers informed him last week that he would no longer be part of the film sequel because he broke his contract by not getting his addiction issues in check, TMZ reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The outlet went on to claim that the \u201cJackass\u201d family is concerned about Margera\u2019s well-being \u2014 and wanted him to be a part of the project \u2014\u00a0but worried he would self-sabotage because of his past substance abuse issues. <\/p>\n

Paramount has not responded to The Post\u2019s requests for comment. Reps for the show\u2019s director and writer Jeff Tremaine, as well as writer and co-creator Johnny Knoxville, also did not respond to The Post\u2019s requests for comment.<\/p>\n

Margera announced last Friday that he was getting help after\u00a0a series<\/a> of disturbing videos posted earlier that week.<\/p>\n

The entertainer had fans worried after they viewed the initial clips, which detailed his grievances with the film, set to open Sept. 3. At the time, Margera was still on the\u00a0cast list for the movie on IMDb<\/a> \u2014\u00a0he has since been removed \u2014 but claimed he was shut out of the production and called for a boycott.<\/p>\n

In his follow-up video\u00a0released on his Instagram,<\/a>\u00a0Margera revealed \u201csome good news<\/a>. I realized that I\u2019m manic bipolar and yesterday, I had to go . . . crazy because of not knowing the answer for a year and a half whether we\u2019re doing \u2018Jackass\u2019 or not. I had . . . to deal with the madness to finally know the answer.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, sources told TMZ that the \u201cJackass 4\u201d production team presented Margera with conditions he would need to abide by to continue on the project. Among them: routine drug tests, including breathalyzers and urinalysis, seeing a psychologist, taking proper meds \u2014 and an overall commitment to staying sober.<\/p>\n

He reportedly failed to live up to the deal. <\/p>\n

Margera\u2019s public downfall underscores\u00a0the myriad issues the franchise\u2019s actors have experienced<\/a>\u00a0since \u201cJackass\u201d premiered on MTV in 2000. The breakout hit showcased wild stunts in a world before iPhones, social media<\/a> and YouTube, airing for two years and eventually morphing into nine films and four spinoffs, including \u201cViva la Bam,\u201d featuring Margera and his family.<\/p>\n

But behind the scenes, key players struggled. With their daring stunts came injuries, followed by painkillers, followed \u2014 in some cases \u2014 by addiction.<\/p>\n

Margera previously addressed his alcoholism during a 2016 episode of VH1\u2019s \u201cFamily Therapy With Dr. Jenn.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy first drink, I was 21 and I never drank before that,\u201d he said on the show. \u201cWhen I really started drinking, I was probably 24, 25 . . . It just slowly became waking up and sipping on a drink as soon as I got up . . . one is too many but a thousand is never enough.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2018, Margera was arrested for DUI and\u00a0went to rehab<\/a>. Since then, he\u2019s been open about his battle, and even\u00a0begged Dr. Phil for help in 2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cDr. Phil, I need your help in a big, big way,\u201d a distressed Margera said in a video post. \u201cMy family is in shambles. It\u2019s worse than it\u2019s ever been, ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

After appearing<\/a> on the show,\u00a0he checked back into rehab<\/a> that month.<\/p>\n

Now, Margera lives in Oceanside, California, with his wife, and said via his social-media videos that he\u2019s making new friends and pursuing the things he loves, such as skateboarding.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
