DC Comics\u2019 Constantine <\/em>is reportedly getting another reboot, this time as a series<\/a> for HBO Max.<\/p>\n

J.J. Abrams\u2018 Bad Robot production company, according to multiple reports, is said to be developing the project, which will be written by British author Guy Bolton.<\/p>\n

In the latest incarnation, the lead character John Constantine will be a young Londoner and most likely a person of color, according to Deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Matt Ryan starred in a previous version of Constantine<\/em>in 2014 on NBC, but it lasted just one season. He went on to reprise the role in an episode of The CW\u2019s Arrow<\/em>and then in Legends of Tomorrow.<\/em><\/p>\n

Before that, Keanu Reeves did a movie version of Constantine <\/em>in 2005.<\/p>\n

The character \u2014 a violent and anti-social<\/a> occult detective \u2014 first app<\/a>eared in DC Comics\u2019 The Saga of Swamp Thing<\/em> #37, published in 1985. The new HBO Max series will likely tie in with Justice League Dark<\/em>that Bad Robot is also producing for the streaming service.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
