K. Dot\u2019s sophomore album collected another accolade with <em>good kid, m.A.A.d city<\/em> selling two million pure album copies, according to <em>Chart Data<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Some are believing that <em>Chart Data<\/em>\u2018s tweet is inferring that Kendrick\u2019s <em>Good Kid<\/em> album is multi-platinum, but the Grammy-nominated project was already <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.riaa.com\/gold-platinum\/?tab_active=default-award&amp;ar=kendrick+lamar&amp;ti=&amp;lab=&amp;genre=&amp;format=&amp;date_option=release&amp;from=&amp;to=&amp;award=&amp;type=&amp;category=&amp;adv=SEARCH#search_section\">certified triple-platinum<\/a>\u00a0by the RIAA in 2018, even though this is reportedly his first album to sell two million pure copies.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kendricklamar?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@kendricklamar<\/a>&#8216;s &#8216;good kid, m.A.A.d city&#8217; has now sold over 2 million pure copies in the US. It\u2019s his first album to reach this milestone.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 chart data (@chartdata) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chartdata\/status\/1362439231940030471?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 18, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><em>Good kid, m.A.A.d city<\/em> debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 242,000 total album-equivalent units following its October 22, 2012 release. The project\u2019s largest single, \u201cSwimming Pools (Drank),\u201d would top out at No. 17 on the Hot 100.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2020,\u00a0<em>good kid, m.A.A.d city<\/em>\u00a0became the longest-charting Hip Hop album of all time\u00a0by spending 400 weeks on the Billboard 200. As of February 18, the album remains on the chart after 433 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>His most recent album also continues to make history. <em>DAMN.<\/em> released in April 2017 and hasn\u2019t left the Billboard 200 since its arrival.
