\n Mayor de Blasio was shouted down with boos and shouts of \u201cF\u2014 you de Blasio\u201d when he tried to take the podium at a George Floyd protest in Brooklyn on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cF\u2014\u00a0 the mayor\u2019s curfew!\u201d some shouted. \u201cTurn your back! Turn your back!\u201d others shouted. Many in the crowd did turn their backs.<\/p>\n

\u201cShut the f\u2014 up!\u201d protesters shouted.<\/p>\n

The heckling was so intense, the mayor kept his remarks under five minutes, and then was no longer seen on the stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cBlack lives matter in New York,\u201d the mayor attempted to say at the protest at Cadman Plaza at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot to you!\u201d one heckler shouted.<\/p>\n

The Rev. Kevin McCall, who is one of the organizers of the memorial, tried calm the crowd, but to no avail.<\/p>\n

Hizzoner stepped down from the podium after telling the angry crowd, \u201cGeorge Floyd could not have died in vain,\u201d and \u201cWe will not be about words in this city; we will be about change.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cWe will make peaceful change in this city.\u201d<\/p>\n

The crowd turning their backs on de Blasio comes after police have repeatedly turned their backs on de Blasio at funerals for slain officers.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
