The Beach Boys have sold a controlling interest in the group\u2019s intellectual property to Irving Azoff\u2019s company Iconic Artists Group, Rolling Stone<\/em> reports<\/a>. The sale includes the group\u2019s master recordings and a share of their publishing, but unlike recent deals struck by artists like Bob Dylan and Neil Young, the Beach Boys\u2019 sale also includes the rights to the brand as a whole and the group\u2019s memorabilia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Azoff has not disclosed how much he paid for a controlling stake, but the band will retain an interest in their intellectual property. \u201cThey can make the final decision on business decisions, which is what we really need\u2014what we have needed, I should say,\u201d Al Jardine told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n
