Android 12 will make it way easier to share your wireless connection\u2019s credentials through Nearby Share \u2014 Android\u2019s AirDrop equivalent.<\/p>\n<p>This feature is part of\u00a0Android 12\u2018s first developer beta that dropped last night. On the Wi-Fi password screen, you can tap the Nearby button to share your credentials to Android phones with Nearby Sharing enabled.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Android 12 now lets you share Wi-Fi passwords with anyone nearby through Nearby Share. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/fAA0nzKvlL\">pic.twitter.com\/fAA0nzKvlL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mishaal Rahman (@MishaalRahman) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MishaalRahman\/status\/1362462800979894274?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 18, 2021<\/a>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>[Read:\u00a0Android 12\u2019s first developer preview arrives \u2014 here\u2019s what\u2019s new]<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Android 10 and Android 11 both had functionality to let you share your Wi-Fi password through QR codes, and I think that\u2019s the easiest way to do it. However, for some reason, if those codes are not working, you will be able to send it through Nearby Share when Android 12 rolls out.<\/p>\n<p>While you\u2019re at it, you can check out our guide for sharing your Wi-Fi password on any platform through a QR code.<\/p>\n<p>Android 12 is just in the nascent stage with its first developer preview, so this feature might go through some tweaks till we reach the final version. Google plans to roll out three developer builds and four beta version before we see how the finished product looks like.
