According to<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2021\/02\/19\/kim-kardashian-kanye-west-file-for-divorce\/\"><em> TMZ,<\/em><\/a> the<em> Keeping Up With The Kardashians<\/em> star filed the documents recently with the help of her attorney Laura Wasser. But unlike Dr. Dre and Nicole Young\u2019s bitter divorce, the West-Kardashian split is amicable.<\/p>\n<p>Kardashian is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their four children \u2014 North, Saint, Psalm and Chicago \u2014 which Ye has reportedly granted. The couple is committed to co-parenting together and presumably don\u2019t want any complications to get in the way of their kids\u2019 well being.<\/p>\n<p>Kanye and the reality television queen, who wed in 2014 during a lavish ceremony in Italy, have a prenuptial agreement in place and neither party is contesting it. At a South Carolina campaign rally, he went on a tear-filled rant about Harriet Tubman \u201cnot actually freeing the slaves\u201d while admitting he encouraged Kardashian to abort their first child North.<\/p>\n<p>He then accused the SKIMS founder of having an affair with Meek Mill and called mother-in-law Kris Jenner a white supremacist during one of his infamous <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> rants, forcing her to publicly address his bipolar disorder.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Divorce talk started heating up\u00a0after the New York Post reported their divorce was \u201cimminent\u201d last month. The couple has been living separate lives for some time, with Kanye in Wyoming and Kardashian in Calabasas, California. In a statement to <em>PEOPLE,<\/em> a source close to the situation said Kanye was struggling as the divorce loomed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKanye is not doing well,\u201d the source said. \u201cHe is anxious and very sad. He knows that the marriage is over and there\u2019s nothing that can be done right now. He also knows what he is losing in Kim.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This marks Kardashian\u2019s third divorce. She was previously married to music producer Damon Thomas and NBA player Kris Humphries.
