\n Coronavirus patients are increasingly being stricken by mystery pains even months after they are deemed recovered, according to a report.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we are seeing is very frightening,\u201d Prof. Gabriel Izbicki of Jerusalem\u2019s Shaare Zedek Medical Center told The Times of Israel.<\/p>\n

\u201cMore than half the patients, weeks after testing negative, are still symptomatic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rather than typical symptoms of COVID-19, however, many patients are reporting pain in completely unexpected places, Eran Schenker, the director of a clinic in the city Bnei Brak, told the paper.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt can app<\/a>ear in the arms, legs, or other places where the virus doesn\u2019t have a direct impact,\u201d Schenker said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you ask about the pain level on a 1 to 10 scale, can be 10, with people saying they can\u2019t get to sleep,\u201d he told the paper.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome of them had coronavirus in March, so they may have been recovered for months,\u201d he stressed, saying the long-term pains do not correlate with how seriously ill they were while infected.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe do scans and can\u2019t see anything, but they have this pain \u2014 we\u2019re told about it again and again,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

One 55-year-old man who had coronavirus in March now \u201cfeels like he\u2019s broken,\u201d his wife told the paper \u2014 even though he tested negative for COVID-19 last month.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s actually worse than he was when he was hospitalized,\u201d she told the paper, saying he is so fatigued he can hardly walk.<\/p>\n

Like with almost everything connected to the coronavirus, the complete novelty of the symptoms make them almost impossible to treat.<\/p>\n

\u201cPainkillers block the pain but don\u2019t relieve the source, but we don\u2019t know how to address the source and you can\u2019t be on painkillers the rest of your life,\u201d Schenker said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
