Now that the starters for the NBA All-Star Game<\/a> have been announced, Knicks forward Julius Randle will have to wait a few more days to find out if he will be added as a reserve from the Eastern Conference.<\/p>\n

As the Knicks prepare to face the Warriors on Tuesday at the Garden, the remainder of the rosters will be announced that evening, beginning at 7 p.m. on TNT.<\/p>\n

Seven additional players from each conference will be selected by a panel of NBA coaches, and Randle\u2019s coach believes he deserves the first nod of his career.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the numbers speak for themselves, but there are a lot of players who have similar-type numbers. But I think when you look at the impact on winning, that\u2019s where he\u2019s separated himself,\u201d Tom Thibodeau said following Friday\u2019s practice. \u201cTo do what he\u2019s doing for this team, we wouldn\u2019t be where we are. He\u2019s our engine. So I hope that\u2019s recognized.\u201d<\/p>\n

Randle said Friday the Knicks (14-16) \u201ccan be a lot better as a team on both sides of the ball\u201d and \u201cI can be a lot better as an individual.\u201d He is averaging career highs with 23.2 points, 10.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists over 36.7 minutes per game.<\/p>\n
