“#Igor Shesterkin getting most of starts in net for Rangers<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Igor Shesterkin is set to make his 10th start of the season Saturday afternoon, when the Rangers play at Washington.<\/p>\n

It\u2019ll be the rookie netminder\u2019s third start in the last four game<\/a>s and his sixth in the last eight, which included a three-game stretch from Feb. 1-8.<\/p>\n

Shesterkin currently has a 3-5-1 record with a 2.36 goals against average and a .918 save percentage through 10 games so far this season. He faced the Capitals on Feb. 4, when the Rangers came out on top with a 4-2 victory. That was also Shesterkin\u2019s last win; he picked up losses in his last three app<\/a>earances.<\/p>\n

Head coach David Quinn originally said he planned to alternate between Shesterkin and Alexandar Georgiev, but has since decided to go with the hot hand.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll know [Saturday] morning about K\u2019Andre,\u201d Quinn said. \u201cHe\u2019s been close for a couple days now, so we\u2019ll probably wait to see how he feels.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old rookie, who quickly solidified himself in the defense\u2019s top-four, has been considered day-to-day and has missed the last two games.<\/p>\n
