A man randomly slashed a 60-year-old woman in the face this week in the Bronx, police said Saturday.<\/p>\n

The unsuspecting woman was walking along East Tremont Avenue, near Samuel Young Park on the edge of Parkchester, Thursday around 4:30 p.m., when the unidentified man app<\/a>roached her from behind, tapped her on the shoulder, and when she turned, sliced her across the forehead and eyes without saying a word, police said.<\/p>\n

The suspect then fled westbound on East Tremont in a gray Honda Civic with a dent on the passenger side of the front end of the vehicle, cops said. <\/p>\n

Emergency medical services transported the victim to Jacobi Medical Center, where she needed 18 stitches to close the wound, cops said.<\/p>\n

The NYPD is asking for the public\u2019s help in locating the suspect, who cops said stands 5\u20196\u2033 tall and weighs about 160 pounds. <\/p>\n

Police have released a photo of the vehicle the attacker used to flee.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD\u2019s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).\n <\/p><\/div>\n
