The starboard engine of a United Airlines passenger jet burst into flames over Denver on Saturday \u2014 forcing an emergency landing and causing a huge piece of engine casing to land on a suburban front yard<\/a>, officials and witnesses said. <\/p>\n

Amazingly, no injuries were reported from on board Honolulu-bound United Flight 328 or on the ground \u2014 despite dramatic images showing the rattling, burning engine and the front yard wreckage.<\/p>\n

The Boeing 777 took off from Denver International Airport at 12:49 p.m. with 231 passengers and 10 crew members on board but quickly experienced engine trouble and returned to Denver International Airport around 1:30 p.m., IFN News reported.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cFlight 328 @united engine caught fire. my parents are on this flight,\u201d @michaelagiulia tweeted, <\/a>along with video of the burning engine. \u201cEveryone\u2019s okay though!\u201d <\/p>\n

The circular engine casing landed in a front yard in the Denver-area suburb of Broomfield, where police sent out a Code Red to 1,400 residents<\/a> asking them to look for additional debris.<\/p>\n

Some of the debris pieces landed in a turf field in a Broomfield park<\/a>, about 25 miles north of Denver.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease don\u2019t touch or move any debris,\u201d the Broomfield Police Department tweeted<\/a>, along with photos of some of the scattered pieces.<\/p>\n

The National Transportation Safety Board tweeted that it is probing<\/a> the terrifying incident.<\/p>\n

United said it is working with the NTSB which is probing what the airline described as an \u201cengine failure.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe NTSB is investigating and has directed that any persons with debris from this event contact their local law enforcement agency. All passengers and crew have deplaned and been transported back to the terminal in DEN. We are\u00a0now working to get our customers on a new flight to Honolulu in the next few hours,\u201d United spokesman David Gonzalez told The Post.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
