\n A student at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice tried to fuel anti-cop activism by revealing the personal phone numbers of nearly a dozen City Council members on Tuesday \u2014 only to chicken out and remove the information hours later.<\/p>\n

Aaron Narraph Ferrando tweeted the information amid what one council member told The Post was a campaign to de-fund the NYPD through the city budget by contacting officials via phone calls, text messages and even home visits.<\/p>\n

\u201cCall like crazy if you haven\u2019t been able to reach them yet,\u201d Ferrando tweeted at 10:30 a.m.<\/p>\n

In an email to The Post, Ferrando defended his actions, saying, \u201cI did not post the physical address of a single elected official.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAll I did was pass on alternative phone numbers from another source that constituents could use to reach their representatives,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost city council members (including my own) are not answering their office phones on the day of an extremely important vote to defund the NYPD, so this is unfortunately our only option to get answers.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Ferrando, who attends John Jay through the Macaulay Honors College scholarship program, later reversed course and deleted his tweet shortly before 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

He sarcastically congratulated the City Council for the move, saying, \u201cI\u2019ve gotten countless calls and messages from folks telling me how upset they are, including from a Post reporter saying the NYPD has been involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re elected officials with power. I\u2019m 19,\u201d he added.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
