Still, in my opinion (which may be biased, as a Bristolian), it\u2019s got so much to offer. From unique bridges to hot air balloon festivals to dozens of neighborhoods, each with its own individual character, Bristol has something for everyone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_should_you_visit_Bristol_in_winter\"><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_should_you_visit_Bristol_in_winter\"><\/span>Why should you visit Bristol in winter?\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Bristol is a fantastic place to visit any time of year. Sure, the summer\u2019s great, with plenty of festivals and outdoor dining areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But Bristol certainly isn\u2019t a seasonal city, and in winter, it has a certain charm. The historic buildings of Bristol\u2019s city center are magical at any time of year, and the cobbled streets are beautiful rain or shine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Bristol\u2019s famous street art brightens up any grey day, and there are plenty of places to hole away and spend a cozy afternoon. Since 2013, Bristol\u2019s Millenium Square has been home to one of the city\u2019s best ice rinks, one of the most popular <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/gosouthwestengland.co.uk\/bristol-date-ideas\/\">Bristol date ideas<\/a> throughout the last few winters.<\/p>\n<p>However, Bristol is a forward-thinking city, and after learning about the effects of ice rinks on climate change, the council decided to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristol247.com\/news-and-features\/news\/roller-disco-to-replace-ice-rink-this-christmas-on-millennium-square\/\">swap an ice rink for a roller disco in 2019<\/a>. Here, you can learn about emigration to Australia and the USA and the engineering marvel that was Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The SS Great Britain costs \u00a319 to enter, but it\u2019s well worth it \u2013 plus, your ticket is valid for a year.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The M Shed, which is a free museum focusing on Bristol\u2019s culture and history.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The Bristol Museum, which contains exhibitions about Bristol, the South West, and the world around. Ashton Court, located in the city\u2019s east, opens at 8 am daily \u2013 so during the shorter days of November, December, and January, you\u2019ll be able to watch the sun come up just as the park opens.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ashton Court is a huge estate sprawling over 850 acres. It comprises grassland and forest and even has two areas where deer live. During winter mornings, it\u2019s frosty and tranquil, a wonderful place to start a day.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You could finish your walk by the Clifton Suspension Bridge, walk over it, and breakfast in the beautiful Clifton Village. King Street is the heart of this. While the buildings themselves don\u2019t quite date back to Medieval times, the Llandoger Trow, which is the inspiration of both Treasure Island and Robinson Crusoe, dates back to 1664, and The Old Duke has a history spanning back to 1780.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These pubs have been refurbished since the olden days and now provide a wonderfully cozy atmosphere when the winter chill sets in. It\u2019s also home to one of Bristol\u2019s most fun bars and is in the heart of the city\u2019s liveliest nightlife area.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For a central, modern, affordable hotel, check out <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/gb\/future-inn-bristol.en.html?aid=1938801&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2\">Future Inn<\/a> in Old Market. Each room is styled to perfection, with both modern and traditional furnishings and unique touches.
