Based on the book by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler,\u00a0<em>Cursed<\/em> reimagines Nimue (played by <em>13 Reasons Why<\/em> star\u00a0<strong>Katherine Langford<\/strong>), the fabled Lady of the Lake, as the one who is chosen to wield the sword of legend.\u00a0But of course, since this is a YA fantasy series,\u00a0<em>Cursed<\/em> also reimagines all the Arthurian figures of old as young, sexy, shirtless models. Nimue is tasked with bringing a legendary sword to Merlin (<strong>Gustaf Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/strong>), who is depicted as a shirtless, ripped youth, and along the way runs into Arthur (<strong>Devon Terrell<\/strong>), similarly young and hot, who aids her on her quest.<\/p>\n<p>Revisionist depictions of Arthurian characters as young models is nothing new \u2014 BBC\u2019s\u00a0<em>Merlin<\/em> attracted a big following for doing exactly the same thing. It\u2019s a staple of the young adult fantasy genre, which seems to be the demographic that <em>Cursed<\/em> is heavily targeting, especially with their star Langford, who should bring the\u00a0<em>13 Reasons Why<\/em> fan base with her.<\/p>\n<p>Also starring in\u00a0<em>Cursed<\/em>\u00a0are\u00a0<strong>Daniel Sharman<\/strong>\u00a0(Weeping Monk), <strong>Sebastian Armesto<\/strong>\u00a0(King Uther Pendragon),\u00a0<strong>Matt\u00a0 Stokoe <\/strong>(Gawain),\u00a0<strong>Lily Newmark<\/strong>\u00a0(Pym),\u00a0<strong>Shalom Brune-Franklin <\/strong>(Igraine),\u00a0<strong>Emily Coates<\/strong>\u00a0(Sister Iris),\u00a0<strong>Billy Jenkins<\/strong>\u00a0(Squirrel),\u00a0<strong>Bella Dayne<\/strong>\u00a0(Red Spear), and\u00a0<strong>Peter Mullan<\/strong>\u00a0(Father Carden).<\/p>\n<p>Here is the synopsis for\u00a0<em>Cursed<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Based on the New York Times bestselling book, Cursed is a re-imagination of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue, a young woman with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake.
