The musicians were best known for their single <em>Get Lucky<\/em>, which helped them win a <strong>Grammy<\/strong> for Best Album in 2014. More recently, they collaborated with <strong>The Weeknd<\/strong> on hits like <em>Starboy<\/em> and <em>I Feel It Coming<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: The Weeknd\u2019s Halftime Performance Maze Spawns TONS Of Viral Tweets<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The group\u2019s longtime publicist confirmed the retirement to <em>Variety <\/em>on Monday following the release of a completely dramatic eight minute video on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a><\/strong>. Titled <em>Epilogue<\/em>, the announcement follows <strong>Thomas Bangalter<\/strong> and <strong>Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo<\/strong> through the desert in their now iconic space helmets and leather jackets (outfits used to conceal their identity from their start in Paris). Halfway through the eerily quiet short flick, one member removes his jacket to reveal an energy pack. After a dramatic pause, the other member starts the timer, walks away, and watches his friend get blown up multiple times!<\/p>\n<p class=\"highlight\">What a way to say goodbye!!<\/p>\n<p>Like the end of a classic action adventure, the last remaining member struts toward the sunset as emotional lyrics from their song <em>Touch<\/em> signal the end of this musical journey.
