\n I love making up band names. If you don\u2019t believe it,\u00a0I once spent an entire evening creating new musical group names for\u00a0<\/span>folks on Twitter<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Coming up with funny or catchy monikers is hard.<\/span> But\u2026 what if an AI did all the heavy lifting?<\/span><\/p>\n

Dream no longer. This\u00a0Twitter bot<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>not only comes up with new metal band names, but also makes their album names and artwork too.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The algorithm behind this not super complex by today\u2019s standards. The bot uses Open AI\u2019s\u00a0GPT-2-simple to generate band and album names. For generating album art, it uses the big-sleep library<\/a> that converts texts into images.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the headline suggests, Evil Chicken is definitely my favorite non-existent metal band, but I\u2019m also including some of my other top picks.<\/p>\n

While this bot uses the big-sleep library to create the album art, I would also like to see OpenAI\u2019s DALL-E image generator to drum up some mean metal images.<\/p>\n

Name generation by an AI is common now. However, it\u2019s mostly used by researchers to\u00a0<\/span>come up with\u00a0<\/span>funny projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019d like to see these experiments hit the real world. While I don\u2019t think musicians would want their band to be named by AI, how about an album? Or a song? Or even just some lyrics.<\/span><\/p>\n
