A former aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday provided new details to back up her claims of sexual harassment \u2014 including an allegation that New York\u2019s top elected official kissed her \u201con the lips\u201d without warning inside his Manhattan office.<\/p>\n

Lindsey Boylan \u2014 now a Democratic candidate for Manhattan borough president \u2014 made the stunning allegation in an essay posted on the Medium website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Boylan said the incident took place after her 2018 promotion to be Cuomo\u2019s deputy secretary for economic development and special advisor to the governor \u2014 a job she initially turned down \u201cbecause I didn\u2019t want to be near him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were in his New York City office on Third Avenue,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I got up to leave and walk toward an open door, he stepped in front of me and kissed me on the lips. I was in shock, but I kept walking.\u201d<\/p>\n

Afterward, Boylan wrote, \u201cI came to work nauseous every day,\u201d then resigned on Sept. 26, 2018.<\/p>\n

Boylan also alleges that Cuomo suggested, \u201cLet\u2019s play strip<\/a> poker,\u201d while they were \u201cflying home from an October 2017 event in Western New York on his taxpayer-funded jet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cuomo made the comment as he and Boylan sat facing each other, with his press aide to her right \u201cand a state trooper behind us,\u201d according to her essay.<\/p>\n

\u201cGovernor Andrew Cuomo has created a culture within his administration where sexual harassment and bullying is so pervasive that it is not only condoned but expected,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

Boylan made her bombshell claims in the wake of The Post\u2019s recent revelation that top Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa privately admitted his administration hid the total number of nursing home residents killed by COVID-19 from lawmakers and the public over fear that federal prosecutors would use it \u201cagainst us.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Post\u2019s scoop has sparked calls for Cuomo to be impeached and a probe by the FBI and Brooklyn US Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

In her 1,700-plus-word essay, Boylan said DeRosa and \u201cother top women\u201d around Cuomo \u201cnormalized\u201d his alleged harassment so \u201cthat only now do I realize how insidious his abuse was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boylan also posted screenshots of government emails, including one in which Cuomo\u2019s executive secretary, Stephanie Benton, purportedly passed along a message from him that referenced a reported former girlfriend to show she was his type.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said look up Lisa Shields. You could be sisters. Except you\u2019re the better looking sister,\u201d the Dec. 14, 2016, email said.<\/p>\n

Later, Boylan wrote, Cuomo \u201cbegan calling me \u2018Lisa\u2019 in front of colleagues. It was degrading.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another image shows a Nov. 1, 2016, email exchange in which Cuomo\u2019s chief of staff, Jill DesRosiers, asked Howard Zemsky \u2014 then the state\u2019s economic-development czar \u2014 whether Boylan would be attending a meeting the next day.<\/p>\n

Zemsky wrote back, \u201cHa!\u201d and added that Boylan would be in Albany \u201cbut it will be hard for her to concentrate on the presentations while worrying about how the Gov\u2019s day is going in Rochester.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her essay, Boylan also said that after she first accused Cuomo of sexual harassment in a series<\/a> of tweets in December, \u201ctwo women reached out to me with their own experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOne described how she lived in constant fear, scared of what would happ<\/a>en to her if she rejected the Governor\u2019s advances,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe other said she was instructed by the Governor to warn staff members who upset him that their jobs could be at risk. Both told me they are too afraid to speak out.\u201d<\/p>\n

When she initially accused Cuomo, Boylan didn\u2019t provide any details of his alleged harassment and didn\u2019t respond to repeated requests for comment.<\/p>\n

In a tweet Wednesday, she said, \u201cI never planned to share the details of my experience working in the Cuomo administration, but I am doing so now in hopes that it may make it easier for others to speak their own truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cuomo\u2019s office didn\u2019t immedia<\/a>tely return a request for comment, but the governor denied Boylan\u2019s allegations in December.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not true,\u201d Cuomo said during a news<\/a> conference a day after her tweets.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook, I fought for and I believe a woman has the right to come forward and express her opinion and express issues and concerns that she has. But it\u2019s just not true.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
