Having said where you have to go for the \u201cWoow\u2026\u201d to be\u00a0greater, we\u2019ll explain what you can see in the square. The map we have done will help you to not miss any\u00a0of its attractions!<\/p>\n

\u2013 Resurrection<\/strong> door: It\u2019s\u00a0the\u00a0main<\/strong> entrance to Red Square and the prettiest<\/strong> door for a general<\/a> overview<\/strong> of the place. This is where we highly<\/strong> recommend you again to enter.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Kazan<\/strong> Cathedral: This colorful<\/strong> church is in one of the ends in\u00a0the square. Admission is free<\/strong> again but you can\u2019t take pictures inside (again!).<\/p>\n

\u2013 St. Basil\u2019s Church<\/strong>: This church would deserve\u00a0a single post, to be honest. It\u2019s the\u00a0best known picture of Red Square<\/strong> and the merriest\u00a0church ever\u00a0seen so far. Basil leaves no one indifferent, as\u00a0this\u00a0church never ceases to amaze. From away\u00a0it looks huge\u00a0but from up close it looks much smaller. Its interior is priceless for\u00a0it\u2019s like a cave<\/strong>! The entry\u2019s not free, but we guarantee you it\u2019s worth;\u00a0it costs\u00a0250 rubles (150 rubles for students).<\/p>\n

\u2013 Lenin\u2019s Mausoleum<\/strong>: \u00a0It\u2019s shocking to see Lenin\u2019s embalmed while\u00a0protected with plenty of safety measures<\/strong>. The leader of the Russian revolution<\/strong> is exposed in the mausoleum guarded by many well camouflaged\u00a0police. You can\u2019t enter the mausoleum with\u00a0cameras, phones or backpacks. Admission is free<\/strong> but then you have to pay the checkroom<\/strong>. It\u2019s only open from 10 to 13h and closes on Mondays. Definitely worth going early to avoid long queues<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u2013 State Historical Museum<\/strong>: This building is one of the most famous in Red Square, like the\u00a0biggest national treasure<\/strong>, but many people don\u2019t know what it is though. It contains 4.5 million pieces related to the history<\/strong> and culture<\/strong> of Russia from ancient times to the present day, but visitors can see only 20 thousand exhibits.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Kremlin Walls<\/strong>: From Red Square you have a direct vision to the Kremlin walls. However, the entrance to the Kremlin is through the gardens<\/strong> behind the Resurrection door and having previously paid<\/strong>. This\u00a0place\u2019s amazing, so much that we\u2019re considering to dedicate it the exclusive post altogether with St. Basil it deserves!<\/p>\n

\u2013 GUM Department Store<\/strong>: It\u2019s a mall filled with expensive<\/strong> and exclusive<\/strong> shops. If you\u2019re not very much interested into shopping it\u2019s also fine just for a ride. On the evening they get\u00a0lighted up, catching all the attention<\/strong> in the square.<\/p>\n
