You\u2019ve probably heard the rift between Prince Harry<\/strong> and\u00a0Meghan Markle<\/strong> and the rest of the Royal family has seemingly been ripped right open again. The reason for that is we finally hit the end of the one-year \u201creview\u201d of Megxit \u2014 kind of a trial period to make sure the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were sure they wanted to step away.<\/p>\n

Well, they\u2019re sure alright. By all accounts they\u2019re flourishing here in California, even amid the pandemic. They\u2019re establishing connections, making deals, and clearly getting busy in other ways \u2014 considering they\u2019re expecting their second child.<\/p>\n

But continuing that happ<\/a>y existence outside the fam meant reaffirming the breakup, which they did in an official announcement \u2014 hence the reopening of old wounds. According to sources speaking to\u00a0Us Weekly<\/em>, this has all been especially tough on\u00a0Queen Elizabeth II<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a rough few weeks for the queen, that\u2019s for sure. The situation with Harry and Meghan has been challenging, and on top of that, she\u2019s distraught over her beloved husband\u2019s health setback.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

If you hadn\u2019t heard, the normally untiring Prince Philip<\/strong> has taken ill, being hospitalized and treated for an infection last week. He\u2019s a strong guy, but he\u2019s also 99 years old, so\u2026 stressful times. Add to that the fact it seems the Queen sincerely hoped Harry would change his mind! Another source told the outlet:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe queen has had some tearful moments mixed with anger and disappointment. Emotions are definitely running high.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s not just being rejected \u2014 it\u2019s also missing her family, who are isolated a world away. Especially that ginger grandbaby! They explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe queen has FaceTime calls with Archie<\/strong>, but it\u2019s not the same.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The insider says Her Majesty is \u201cdesperate to give Archie a huge hug.\u201d Awww! Perhaps it\u2019s that pain that\u2019s behind her statement? See, after the Sussexes\u2019 choice, in her official statement declaring Megxit was indeed permanent the Queen said a couple other things as well. First, the pair would not be able to keep their Royal patronages, something we were led to believe at the start of all this that they would.<\/p>\n

That includes Prince Harry\u2019s beloved\u00a0Invictus Game<\/a>s<\/strong>, the sporting competition he set up for sick and injured armed services personnel. That was particularly close to his heart due to his own military service.<\/p>\n

A source told\u00a0People<\/em> Meghan and Harry\u00a0were quite \u201cdisappointed\u201d they didn\u2019t get to keep their royal patronages and military appointments.<\/p>\n

The other thing the Queen did was add insult to injury by \u2014 in her majestically shady way \u2014 suggesting that in leaving the Royal family the couple were turning their backs on charity!<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026The Queen has written confirming that in stepping away from the work of The Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service.<\/strong>\u201c<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

See? She\u2019s basically suggesting they did all this out of selfishness! If you didn\u2019t catch that one, we don\u2019t blame you. The woman makes statements with her broaches. She\u2019s nothing if not subtle.<\/p>\n

It was that very sentiment the Sussexes hit back at, pointing out they were still committed to charity and good works because \u201cservice is universal\u201d \u2014 AKA not trademarked by the British Royal Family, as could easily have been read in the Queen\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n

Despite this statement being on its surface merely a philosophical disagreement and not a personal one, it still meant \u2014 very politely, mind you \u2014 rebutting THE QUEEN.<\/p>\n

It was this act of defiance that Prince William<\/strong> reportedly found so \u201cinsulting and disrespectful.\u201d<\/p>\n

People<\/em>\u2018s insider said Harry and Meghan ultimately \u201cthey respect the decision that was reached\u201d by Her Majesty and would not have pushed back in their statement if the wording of the Palace\u2019s statement had specified \u201cRoyal service\u201d and not implied one had to be a Royal to be do good works. As it stands it does<\/em> seem worded specifically to imply the kids have become more selfish.<\/p>\n

However, despite all the new feuding, a confidant insisted to the outlet all will be right again, affirming:<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a very strong family bond.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Well, we shall see. Certainly they are all still family. And that will never change \u2014 no matter where they choose to serve the public. Right?<\/p>\n
